Haven't seen this anywhere else, but Schefter is usually pretty accurate.
Hate to see someone out of work, unless you suck at your job and you work for the Texans......God speed Mr. Bush. I hope you latch on to a LB Coach job soon! Tweet: @AdamSchefter: Now comes time for coordinator moves, too: Houston fired its defensive coordintor Frank Bush. The "General" chimes in 30 minutes later.....(insert your own smart ass comment here). http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...t/7363527.html UPDATE: 2 p.m.: Texans defensive coordinator Frank Bush was fired today. Bush spent four seasons with the Texans and the last two as defensive coordinator. Getting fired today by Gary Kubiak means Kubiak will be returning for his sixth year as head coach. Kubiak is expected to announce Bush and other staff moves at his afternoon news conference at 3:30. Last edited by WMH; 01-03-2011 at 02:23 PM. |

ST's go, for the most part, the way the defense goes. Gibbs Jr. is sure to go, but I don't know who else will.

Gibbs, Holland, and Robert Saleh (assistant LBs) were also let go. Kubiak isn't sure if Ray Rhodes is going to retire; Rhodes' contract will be up in March but he's been working on a year-to-year basis.

Yeah, seems to be some urgency about fixing the defense, finally.
Let's see which FA, coaches, and draft picks they get this to make the defense respectable and good enough to win with next year. |

I heard 2 different Kubiak interviews yesterday and that urgency, that tone came across from Kubiak each time. And I'm thinkin the ole man has finally told Kubiak that it's one more year or else and also whoever the new DC is gonna be, Kubiak is gonna be required to turn over the keys to him and let him run that side of the team, which would include all significant defensive personnel decisions.

If he didn't have any urgency to win, fix the defense, etc., prior to Monday's supposed come-to-Jesus meeting with McNair, he has no business running a football team. |

i apologize in advance, as i am really not trying to take shots at anyone here, but if you really believe all the PR nonsense coming out of reliant stadium this week then we have our answer as to why mcnair would completely ignore his fan base . . .because he knows they will buy what he is selling if he just wraps the turd in the right package. fans want to be optomistic about their team and hope things will get better and he knows that. i include myself in this assesment, as i am a season ticket holder and if i renew my tickets (as i have every year after bing pissed about the season) i will be one of those people he is counting on as well. again, apologies. i just don't think anyone should take what they are saying right now for anything more than propoganda. |

I'm waiting for the cliches to come out about the team being "more aggressive". Have you ever heard a coach/manager say his team will be less aggressive? Obviously, you'd like for a defense to be aggressive but when your secondary couldn't stop an old lady rolling downhill in a wheelchair, there's only so many chances you want your front seven to take.

Of course, if it wasn't Wade saying it, it would have been the other guy. Assuming of course, there is another guy/option....... ![]() |
