Default changing coaching staffs really does set you back.

for those of you who have argued to keep kubiak because we are so close and can't afford to take a step back by changing coaches . . .could you please tell that to the jets. apparently those idiots didn't get the message and went and made the afc championship game in their first two seasons under a new head coach.

the "step back" argument is one of the dumbest out there. you only take a step back if you hire a dud.

Yeah, Jets are doing pretty good.

And today people are questioning Coach Billichick of Patriots because they lost to the Jets.

You gotta have enough good players first somehow, and then the coaching team, not just head coach, likely make a difference.

Pittsburg is a good example of consistency working.

The way draft picks work, free agency, salary cap , all are setup to let bad teams get better and likely there are more teams reaching to playoffs now and varying which teams those are than ever before.

Keep in mind that they got rid of Eric Mangini to bring in Rex. Then look at what happened with Mangini and the Browns. You can bring in anybody after Mangini and your team will improve. Thats all I have to say about that.

I think it is safe to say that we don't yet have the stability that the Jets enjoy. Hey Jeff Fisher is now available!

ok, I thought likely we would change HC this year, but we didn't.

I have heard a lot of gurus on NFL network talk about Packers and Steelers as model franchises over the years for ongoing success.

1. Very stable, ie. few coaching changes.

2. And building through the draft, ie. each team has 35 of its draftees on their roster.

Now some of those 35 likely have 5 , 7, 10, 12 yeasrs experience so the team is mature, and experienced also.

So, I checked, Texans have about 35 of their own draftees on the team as well, but only one has over 5 years experience.

So, perhaps our first four years drafts is what has really set us back by this model.

Agreed. There is no doubt the first two years of drafting for this team were a total disaster. But why has it taken 7 more years, and we still don't have a good neucleus in place? Or maybe we do but it is just now going to start paying off. I don't know, but I'm just glad we still don't have Bud Adams to contend with. The Titans have no HC, no DC, and no QB. At least we seem to be ahead of the game in those 3 areas.

Bite your tongue!!! But...well lets see, if they welcome VY back and Hire a rookie HC in Mike Munchak, and Bud Adams keeps meddling with the team, it is almost a certainty that the Titans will not have a good record next year. But you do the math.
