Report: Texans' Duane Brown suspended four games
Posted by Michael David Smith on September 21, 2010 3:56 PM ET
The 2-0 Houston Texans have just taken a hard hit on their offensive line.

Adam Caplan of FOXSports.com reports that Texans offensive tackle Duane Brown has been suspended for four games.

There's no word yet on the reason for Brown's suspension.

Brown has started all 34 games since the Texans selected him in the first round of the 2008 NFL draft.

Man, now what. Also heard Efrain Salaam resigned to Texans so something must be going on.

That sucks !
Clearly Duane is better than Butler, that's why he's starting, but how much difference is there between the 2 ? I dunno, how much of a drop off will there be ?

Oh, man. 610 is reporting he will not contest and suspension will begin immediately. Said he unwittingly took a tainted supplement. He should be back for Colts #2... Rashad Butler to fill in...

my guess is that they aren't contestign it so they can make sure he is back in the lineup for all the division games. no coincidence that his first game back will be the colts game.

Duane Brown Suspended: Texans Re-Sign Ephraim Salaam

What is in that Houston water? According to multiple sources on twitter, Duane Brown has tested positive for a banned substance and has elected not to appeal. Therefore, his four game suspension begins immediately.

So, Rashod Butler gets the first start of his NFL career this Sunday against Dallas and Demarcus Ware. Fortunately, it is a home game and that should limit anxious mistakes like false starts. Also, unlike in a road game, he should be able to hear Matt Schaub’s snap count, which will mitigate Ware’s ability to beat him off the snap. I’m actually very high on Butler.

Brown, you freakin MORON. We need you out there, man!

Great, now this team is going to have a stigma. I don't want that cloud of bullshit around this team.

What happened with that experiment the Texans were going to do with Charles Spencer, the 3rd round pick the same year they got Winston? If he has recuperated, might he not be a candidate for OLT? Just wondering. Who else would there be on the FA market that wouldn't be just a piece of meat?

I hope Rashad Butler will be up for this game against Dallas. What about flipping Winston over to the left and letting Butler take the easier ORT for the benefit of better protection for Matt's blind side?
