I'm talking about qualification for the 2009-2010 CCL, not the current one. This would make more sense if MLS played a season schedule with a calendar similar to the rest of the world (too cold in northern cities to do this though I suppose).

The MLS representation will include the Supporter's Shield winner this season (Columbus), the two MLS Cup finalists (not the Dynamo ), and I think the US Open winner (can't remember who, but it isn't the Dynamo). Well, if Columbus reaches the MLS final, they can't represent themselves twice, so my understanding is the team with the second most regular season points (which would be the Dynamo) would get to go.
