Dane Brugler tries his hand at mocking all teams for seven rounds. Here's what the Texans' added:
1 (22) – Will Fuller, WR, Notre Dame
2 (52) – Nick Martin, OG/OC, Notre Dame
3 (85) – Jeremy Cash, S, Duke
4 (119) – Adam Gotsis, DL, Georgia Tech
5 (159) – Thomas Duarte, TE, UCLA
5 (166) – Alex Lewis, OT, Nebraska
6 (195) – Anthony Zettel, DL, Penn State
Since I get to see the whole thing unfold, here's how I would have cherry-picked the same draft:
I don't know why the "experts" are so stuck on the idea of us drafting a WR but here is Fuller, Treadwell, Doctson, Coleman and Shepard all available making an excellent reason to trade down if a receiver is what is most important. You can't trade down in this draft and I don't think WR is the wisest move anyway.
1 (22) – Ryan Kelly, OC, Alabama (taken at 35)
Now, there's no need for Martin in the second round where three really good choices - Penn State DT Austin Johnson, Mississippi St DL Chris Jones and Stanford G Joshua Garnett remain. Shepard is also still available. Good minds may disagree here but my pick is:
2 (52) – Chris Jones, DL, Mississippi St (56) who can start at DE then move to NT as he ages.
Cash is not a bad pick at this point. He's among the top three safeties on most boards. Carl Nassib is another great choice if I want to keep rebuilding the d-line. But one I keep drafting in this spot turns up yet again.
3 (85) – Austin Hooper, TE, Stanford (96)
Fear not that I passed up at safety because I have that answer in the fourth round.
4 (119) – Miles Killebrew, S, Southern Utah (123)
The fifth round is where I get two chances to fill holes
5 (159) – Dominque Alexander, LB, Oklahoma (160)
5 (166) – Malcolm Mitchell, WR, Georgia (175)
And, with my last pick..
6 (195) – Keenan Reynolds, WR/RB/QB, Navy (214)
