Manning - Let's go all in! On 2nd thought... I'm torn...
Figured I'd start a new thread just for Manning. Part of me wants us to go all in, be bold, and just go for it. The other part of me knows the risk and wants to stay status-quo and live with what we have. Couple of talking points:
1. Is an 80%~90% Manning still better than Schaub?
2. Is Schaub's current injury any less risky than Manning's? IMO, they're both question marks. I mean, if you lose either one of them, we're done, right?
3. Would brining in Manning ignite the roster or tear it apart?
Although Schaub injury seems to be the less risky in that it doesn't appear to be career threathening (as opposed to Manning's), there should be some concern there - at least for the short-term 2012 season. Who's to say he'll be OK and/or won't reaggravate it? IMO, the biggest risk with Manning would be the fact that if you can't get at least 2-3 years out of him, you've seriously set your franchise back. Schaub probably covers us for 3-5 years as long as he's healthy.
Regardless, this team probably needs to do something at the backup QB position. Is anyone comfortable going into 2012 with a somewhat questionable Schaub and TJ?
