I know there are instances in which teams make the playoffs with first year coaches but it does not happen often. The problem I have with a new HC is that it will shake things up entirely when clearly our problems are on the defensive side of the football. Our offense is still number 6 overall and has been a top 10 offense all year long. I don't believe we've ever had this type of balanced attack before. I don't mean to bash on Schaub because he is very qualified at what he does, but he is what he is because he knows the system like the back of his hand. Kubs has mentioned before that he is one of the few QBs in the league that can go without practice, be given the game plan, and not miss a beat on gameday with the playcalling. I believe a new system will set him back into mediocrity. However, with all the frustration of another losing season I can understand why alot of people want Kubiak out of here.
