I'm not a fan of it either. I get really excited in the weeks leading up to the draft, but once it starts I don't want it to stop. Having it spread out over three days will make it drag out that much more. At first I thought it might be easier on the teams to not have 2 marathon days back to back....but now that I think about it it won't even really help them. I'm sure Thurs and Fri. will be all nighters to plan for every possibility the following day.

The casual fan only really watches the first round, so I guess this a move to expand that audience with the prime time Thursday start time. For me, the first round is just a warm up. There's always a guy that slips or maybe a trade that provides some intrigue...but you usually have a decent idea of how the first round is going to shake out. Having to watch the first round and then having to wait two more days to get through the best part of the draft which I think is rounds 2 through 4 or 5 is just a big tease.

It will kill draft parties too. I'm sure that the NFL doesn't think it needs to worry about that because there is no revenue in it for them...but it's kind of like tailgating, one of the reason so many people enjoy the draft or a game on Sunday is the party that goes with it.
