Pollard signs tender, wants long-term deal

A rare in-season pickup that played like a star, Texans safety Bernard Pollard is readying for his second season with the team after signing his $2.521 contract tender Friday.

"This is definitely where I want to be long-term," Pollard told the team's website. "It's just a matter of getting some things ironed out."

The Texans might be well served to see Pollard back up his performance first. Just ask the Cowboys about paying a safety huge dollars after one surprising breakout season.

This may be the first and only time the words "Pollard" and "tender" are used in the same sentence...;)

Very glad to hear Pollard has resigned. He will continue to make a big difference for us on defense. Now if we can upgrade the corners and add an instinctive FS in the Draft, we will be ready to k**k a** and take names.
