Tony Zendejas Charged with Rape

Quote:

LOS ANGELES — Former Oilers and Los Angeles Rams kicker Tony Zendejas was arrested early Thursday on charges of drugging and raping a female customer of his San Dimas sports bar in January.

The Los Angeles County district attorney's office said the 48-year-old Zendejas was arrested on felony warrants at his Yorba Linda home.
Deputy District Attorney Rouman Ebrahim said Zendejas was charged with one count each of rape by use of drugs, rape of an unconscious person, sodomy by anesthesia or controlled substance and sodomy of an unconscious victim.

Prosecutors alleged that on Jan. 26, Zendejas gave the customer a drink that made her groggy. The patron told authorities she woke up in a nearby motel room and alleged she had been raped. ...

sigh... I like to think of Tony as the guy who kicked that heart-pounding 42-yd field goal in OT in the wild card playoff against the Seahawks.

Why did it take six months to press charges? If the victim had been given a police lineup of placekicking Zendejas brothers, would she have been able to spot her attacker?

Weren't there, like, seven of them? Seriously.

Edit:

Okay I found at least six:

Tony
Joaquin
Max
Luis
Alan
Marty

All but Alan and Marty played in the NFL.

Everyone forgets Zeppo...

Does this officially make Tony Z more notorious than Ian Howfield, our former bad-boy kicker/crybaby?

Not until convicted. Until then, Houston kickers still rank above (or is below?) Raiders (Janikowski cruising with date rape drugs back at FSU) and Cowboys (Efren Herrera convicted of statuatory rape) kickers in terms of placekicking pond scum rankings.

Wasn't there also a Raiders kicker who was shooting at Seigfried and Roy or some such thing? Cole something?
