32 Teams Fan Rankings

NFL.Com and the NFL network are taking fan ballots to determine the rankings for the upcoming NFL season. The Network will begin showing the results on June 8th and then continue to work through all the teams. Here is the site...

http://fanrankings.nfl.com/?picks_saved=true

Here are mine...
1. Patriots - Healthy Tom Brady
2. Steelers - Solid core
3. Colts - Peyton gets helped by Donald Brown
4. Ravens - Solid Defense and Flacco
5. Eagles - Donovon got weapons
6. Giants - Maybe Hakeem Nicks can carry Plaxico's weight.
7. Bears - Cutler brings credibility.
8. Saints - Defensive additions make them respectable.
9. Seahawks - Mora and healthy players shows that last year was a fluke.
10. Texans - Playoffs?!?
11. Cowboys - Romo friendly
12. Chargers - Not sure about Rivera as the DC and LT is getting older.
13. Dolphins - Chad Henne, Pennington, or Pat White
14. Falcons - Matt Ryan returns to Earth.
15. Packers - A 3-4 is hard to transition to in a season.
16. Cardinals - Folks start wanting to get paid.
17. Titans - Kerry Collins can't keep it up.
18. Vikings - No Brett Farve means Rosencopter.
19. Panthers - Jake Delhomme is a liability, not an asset.
20. Broncos - Cutler left town.
21. Jaguars - Fred Taylor will be missed.
22. Bills - Lynch and T.O. are not the guys.
23. Rams - It will take Spags some time to get things straight.
24. Bucs - Josh Freeman as a starting QB?
25. Chiefs - Still finding an identity.
26. Bengals - OchoCinco and a bunch of question marks on the roster.
27. Redskins - Clinton Portis isn't happy and neither is Jason Campbell
28. Jets - Mark Sanchez needs somebody to throw to.
29. Lions - They will be better, but not much better.
30. Browns - Who is the RB?
31. 49ers - Who is the QB?
32. Raiders - Tom Cable was not on anybody's short list for coaching candidates.

I'm disappointed. I thought this thread was going to be ranking the fan bases.

We'll start a backwards countdown ourselves.

Undrafted:
34. Los Angeles - Of course, they already have a pro team called the Trojans.
33. San Antonio - Half their population thinks football is played with a round ball.

Now the teams that have franchise:
32. Jacksonville - couldn't sell out even when team wasn't that bad.

JAX seems to be too transient, what with all the military based around there. Areawise it is the biggest metropolitan area in the the nation, I believe.

31. Detroit - But can you blame them, really?
30. St. Louis - Chased the Cardinals out of town and are now making the Rams think the same. Great baseball fans, though.
29. Minnesota - Wimps. I respected the fans more when they played outdoors.
28. Buffalo - Mostly for still living in Buffalo. What is wrong with those people?
27. Indianapolis - Piping in crowd noise? I mean, really!
26. Atlanta - Falcons don't matter as much as the SEC does down south.
25. Houston - Hate to say it but this fan base is nothing to cheer about.
24. San Francisco - Walsh is dead and their last Super Bowl was 15 years ago, so stop gloating already.
23. Arizona - Now the fans finally have some air conditioning and a real contender. Time to learn what they are truly made of.
22. Tennessee - I'm allowing for the fact that they're a small market with an ass for an owner.
21. New England - The Patriots, the Celtics, the Red Sox? Talked about spoiled! But where were they when they sucked?
20. Cleveland - See Buffalo.

.....

I guess you forgot the Oilers used to do this also back in the House of Pain days. The Dome had mikes hanging all over the crowd area of the dome and they plugged it back into speakers system.

It goes back to your Houston fans took forever to figure out when to quite and when to be loud.

As for rating the Houston fan 25th, I think outside of a few diehards, which included this message board members and the like, this city's average fan is a bandwagon jumper who would be hard press to name a player.

I would have lower on this list

19. Cincinnati - Sam Wyche was right. "You don't live in Cleveland..."
18. Dallas - Shameful front-runner fans who deserved to be ranked lower but, man, can they sell merchandise!
17. Philadelphia - They booed Santa Claus. But, then again, they also booed Michael Irvin so it's a push.
16. San Diego - What? You let a little thing like wildfires burning down neighborhoods cause you to move a home game? Where are your priorities?
15. New Orleans - After Katrina, over half their season ticket holders renewed. Now, *that's* having your priorities in order.
14. Washington - Hail To The Redskins...soon to be Bail To The Redskins.
13. Seattle - As if grunge bands and crappy coffee weren't enough...
12. Baltimore - Would be ranked lower except they still carry a torch for the Colts.
11. Kansas City - Gotta give props to fans who have shivered in the cold for a team that hasn't tasted a Super Bowl since the American Football League days.
10. Miami - Didn't anyone tell them that waving white flags is a sign of surrender?

We pipe in crowd noise at Reliant too.

So far they have revealed....

25 Seahawks - The analysts believed like I do, that this is way too low.
26. Bengals - Called it!
27. 49ers - I hope Vernon Davis can play like Antonio Gates this year.
28. Browns - OK, I'm in the ball park.
29. Chiefs - Matt Cassell
30. Raiders - Can Garcia play over Russell?
31. Rams - I gave them more respect.
32. Lions - Folks just can't get over 0 - 16.
