Peter King's Team Rankings

Not a huge Peter King guy, but it is nice to see the team getting a little respect. Hopefully, it will transition on the field this year.

13. Houston
Every year a trendy pick. Every year 8-8. Notice I said the top dozen teams all have reliable strong quarterbacks. I stopped at Matt Schaub, who has been just OK. Quick aside, the Texans paid more for him (two second-round picks, plus moving down two spots in the first round) than Kansas City did for Matt Cassel and Mike Vrabel combined (a second-round pick in the 2009 draft).

This from another eastern establishment know nothing!

Sports people outside of Houston know little about the Texans. As far as pre-season respect, it means nothing. Look how much pre-season respect the Cowboys had last year. And look what it got them.

it's better than being ranked 20th, so likely a little progress in perception from last year. that's why you play the games as its said.

We shall see who has a better season of the two QBs. My money is on Schaub. I'm projecting a 4,000 yard season out of a healthy QB this season. Duane Brown has another year under his belt, and I'd imagine Antoine Caldwell will be seeing some time at RG. Hopefully, that will translate into 16 starts by Mr. Schaub.

We've gotten the love as a sleeper team for the last couple of years...and it always scares me because those teams never live up the hype. Arizona was the same way, but never made any playoff noise until the "experts" got tired of picking them...even then it was as much a case of a team getting hot at the right time as anything.

I dunno, but I'm thinking he sees more time at center and ultimately replaces Myers while Briesel continues to start at RG.

The "experts" have told us the past few years that the National League champions would be the Cubs or the Mets. Just sayin'...
