Cowboys cut T.O. (according to ESPN)

This is the headline from the front page of espn.com. Its breaking news so theres no link yet for a story.

As it appears:

Cowboys Cut T.O.

Terrell Owens' stay in Dallas is over. The Cowboys cut the wide receiver Wednesday night, reports ESPN.com's Michael Smith. T.O. spent three seasons in Big D.

My guess for his landing spot....Minnesota, Jacksonville, or the Raiders. I think Minnesota and Jacksonville are both desperate enough to try it and Al Davis is just crazy.

TO in Jacksonville's run happy offense? That would be funny to watch the implosion

...Garcia, McNabb, and Romo apparently weren't worthy of TO. What about Garrard? I'm almost pulling for this, but I'm afraid if I do he'll end up catching the game winning TD that keeps us out of the playoffs or something.

Call it a gut feeling, but I think he'll end up in San Diego (or Oakland after no one else wants him).

If Synder can find the cap room I bet he would love the chance to let Owens burn the Cowboys twice a year.

painekiller 03-05-2009 12:22 PM

Just remember TO has always been a good citizen the 1st year at each new team. So keep that in mind.

Apparently Profootballtalk.com is keeping a list of teams that have expressed to them through "league sources" that they have no interest in T.O.

http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/...-anti-to-list/

Right now the list is:

The Dallas Cowboys.
The New York Giants.
The Washington Redskins.
The Baltimore Ravens.
The San Francisco 49ers.
The Minnesota Vikings.
The Atlanta Falcons.
The Cleveland Browns.
The San Diego Chargers.
The Philadelphia Eagles.
The New York Jets.
The Tennessee Titans.
The St. Louis Rams.

So Its probably a no as far as Minnesota and SD go. I thought it was interesting that the Texans weren't on this list, but I highly highly doubt that the Texans would be stupid enough to even think about going after T.O and I'd personally just chalk that up to PFT not having any reliable sources inside the Texans. Also, Jacksonville isn't on the list though. Fingers crossed that they're the ones dumb enough to take him. My gut feeling tells me he'll end up with Oakland.

It's been updated. We're on the list now as well as J-Ville. I'm sure once TO realizes no one wants him and his price tag comes down I'm sure some of these teams will flip flop.
