texans started offseason workouts

Heard an interview of Duane Brown on NFL network this evening.

Seems the fitness room is all remodeled with new machines, an MMA workout area and a 40 ft green area.

And fast paced conditioning for all.

Fitness training and class room seems to be it for next two weeks.

Duane Brown said he's back to 320 where he was before 2013 and feels great. Duane said oline and himself were a big reason run game got worse which impacted the complete offense.

And sounds like everyone is excited now and ready for a new season to begin.

Yep, I think I heard the same interview. Gotta have some better O-line play for the QB's .... It wouldn't surprise me to see Fitz, Keenum (or Yates) and the new rookie to all have some playing time this year which I think will be refreshing from some years where it was all Schaub, all the time.

Today phase 2 which is voluntary practice instructions on the field non contact for veterans began.

Andre Johnson didn't show up for new coach.

Hope Andre feels ok.

Nice writeup - sounds ppsitive

CBS local had this info on injured player status yesterday-

Johnathan Joseph and Brennan Williams both spent time doing some work outside and inside watching and getting instructions from the coaching staff.

Brian Cushing spent Tuesday outside training did not come inside to the bubble for team actives.

6th round pick Jeoffrey Pagan did not practice on Tuesday

Some good videos on the four QB's, Savage, O'Brien at this link.

--------------------------------

Past Houston QB that Savage reminds me of? If I squench my eyes a little, I see Dan Pastorini.

Both tall, big arm guys that can take a hit. And both kinda came out of nowhere. Pastorini came from tiny Santa Clara. Savage was somewhat under the radar at Pitt until the late season chatter started.... Though Dante was 6'2" he was "tallish" for a 1970's QB.....

I think the videos and analysis of OTAs has been really good this year.

I like the stress On teamwork and flexibility. Studying playbook on ipods.

Seems everyone buying in to all the changes, music, quick pace.

In general team pretty healthy and getting healthier so hope that continues.

And QB - does seem all four showing equally now with Savage a little behind on playbook. But. some physical skill advantage in arm strength to Savage.

Can't wait to see how this keeps developing.
