GRADES ARE IN

The Texans’ draft was well-received around the country, with ESPN’s Todd McShay saying, “The Houston Texans hit a home run. (OLB Brooks) Reed may have been the most underrated player in the draft. I love the Texans’ draft.” How other analysts graded the Texans (John McClain gave them an A-):

Looks good on paper. Here's to hoping we get the chance to see it on the field by late summer......

Yeah, well the owners are pushing the players up against the wall just as hard as they can, hoping to break them down. But I'll tell you this, if there is not NFL football by the 10th anniversary of 9/11, I am going to be one pissed-off fan. (As if I'm not already.) NAW! Even the NFL owners aren't that insensitive. ARE they?

I believe that they are, and will continue to be. I also believe that in the end, the players will cave. The owners are all billionaires, a large percentage of the players are in the $400k - $500k range and accustomed to living a certain life style. IMHO - Once they start losing game checks, this will get resolved quickly, mainly by this group pushing the effort. Owners can deal with a lost season, probabably not to thier liking, but they will survive. Can't really say that about the majority of the players in the leage.

I'll just be happy if there are no bombs exploding, planes crashing into buildings, or U.S. citizens dying on 9/11/11, let alone NFL games being played. I'm sure a lot people will use that to complain and vent, but I personally don't feel one is relative to the other at all. It will make me feel no better or worse about 9/11 if there are no NFL games being played that day.

You both say that now, but let 9-11 come this year, and no football, and see what tune you whistle!
