Official Texans @ Titans Game Thread, 12/19/2010

Moving ahead, the 5-8 Texans will travel to Nashville this Sunday to take on the 5-8 Tennessee Titans. The Titans have the benefit of extra rest coming off a Thursday night game while the Texans have less than usual rest coming off a Monday night game. It is the second and final meeting in 2010 between the two as the Texans won the first game 20-0. Banged up from the Monday night game, David Anderson, Mike Brisiel and Mario Williams may or may not be available to play for the Texans. The Titans currently sport a 6 game losing streak.

TV = CBS (Channel 11 local) 12 noon, Sunday

Announcers = Kevin Harlan, Solomon Wilcots

Opening line = Titans by 1
Current line = Pickem to Titans by 1.5

Set your DVR's.

I haven't set my DVR on this crappy team since Week 5. The only game I'd care to go back and watch again is the first game of the season. Pathetic. I hope Bob McNair is happy with his POS product.

Ya, it's a lot more enjoyable to rewatch when they win. I set my DVR every week anyway even though the last couple of months, I've only gone back to look up a handful of plays....

NBT 12-15-2010 03:47 PM

I will probably set my DVR for this one for the simple fact that I want the Texans to beat Bud's team. I can always erase it later.

If the dadgum defense will play for 4 quarters the way they played in the 4th quarter Monday night, we won't get behind by 21 points coming out of the shute. It really gripes that we have one of the better offenses in the NFL and the absolute worst defense. Do the secondary players even get coached? KJ's feet look like a ducks on land the way he tries to backpedal. Jeeeez!

Still hoping for a win. Somehow over the Titans. Put the Titans in the cellar.

Wonder how AJ will have fun with Titans DB's , especially Finnegan this game, although AJ's ankle looked pretty sore end of last game? I'm guessing a camera will be following them very closely.

Looks like Texans signed DT DeMario Pressley, 6'3", 301 lbs. previously with N.O and WR Derrick Townsel, 5'9" , 175 Lb speedster previously a rookie with Jacksonville, a speedster and kick returner in collece, N.C. State, to the active roster to replace guys going to IR. See if they even get on active list, depends on injuries status.

Oh yeah, I predict Texans win 21-20. I've only been wrong on score and winner about eight times this year.

Not me, I'm shopping for a Draft pick. A real high one.

82% of the betting public likes the Texans in this one...

Gametime!

Titans win the flip and will receive the kickoff.

Mariani brings the ball back to the Titan 25.

Arky 12-19-2010 12:05 PM

Allen flagged for a low block on the return - gives the Titans +15. Ball at the Titan 40.

Flag pre-snap. Okoye in the neutral zone, +5. 1st and 5.

Pass is broken up by KJ. Makes it 2nd and 5.

CJ for -1. Makes it 3rd and 6.

Pass to Britt good for the 1st down at the Texan 44.

CJ goes left for 3. 2nd and 7 coming up.

Collins sacked by Mitchell! Ball back at midfield. Makes it 3rd and 15.

Pass to Cook good for 8. Titans to go for it on 4th down....

Pass to Williams goes all the way down to the Texan 3. 1st and goal.

Arky 12-19-2010 12:10 PM

CJ for about 1. 2nd and goal coming up.

Pass to Washington good for the TD.

Titans 7, Texans 0

chuck 12-19-2010 12:10 PM

Well, it looks like I was right about Sharpton and it looks like I was right about Mitchell. That's the good news. And the bad?

Good god, this secondary is horrible. It is a disgrace to organized football everywhere. Not news, I guess.

Arky 12-19-2010 12:14 PM

Nice return by Slaton on the kickoff - brings it all the way back into Titan territory at the Titan 44.

10:20 left in the 1st.

Arky 12-19-2010 12:17 PM

Pass to Dreessen good for 7. 2nd and 3 coming up.

Foster for 2. 3rd and a long 1 coming up.

Pass to Foster too tall. 4th and 1 and the Texans to go for it.

Foster with no place to run -2. Titans ball.

chuck 12-19-2010 12:19 PM

Terrible play calling, terrible execution.

Arky 12-19-2010 12:21 PM

Oh my goodness, ball should have been INT'ed but deflects into Britt's hands for a deep completion at the Texan 3.

CJ sweeps left for -2. 2nd and goal at the 5.

Flag pre-snap. Neutral zone infraction on the Texans - 1/2 the distance.

Pass on 2nd down goes inc. 3rd and goal at the 2.5.

CJ for about 1 or 2. Makes it 4th down. Titans to go for it.

Pass in the corner is complete to Gage for the TD.

Titans 14, Texans 0

Arky 12-19-2010 12:28 PM

It's like deja vu all over again....

Kickoff goes out of the endzone - Texans ball at their 20.

6:38 left in the 1st.

Foster for 1. 2nd and 9 coming up.

Foster TFL for -3. Makes it 3rd and 12.

Pass to AJ only gets 4 so Texans have to punt.

Turk's punt travels all of about 22 yards. Titans ball at the Texan 44.

4:33 left in the 1st.

sinnister 12-19-2010 12:32 PM

I am a glutton for punishment

Arky 12-19-2010 12:33 PM

Screen pass is dropped. Makes it 2nd and 10 for the Titans.

CJ gets 9. 3rd and 1 coming up.

CJ sweeps left for about 3, 1st down.

Pass to CJ is dropped. 2nd and 10 coming up.

Pass to Williams goes all the way to the Texans 11. 1st down.

CJ runs it in for the TD.

Titans 21, Texans 0

2:32 left in the 1st.

HPF Bob 12-19-2010 12:35 PM

Hub Arkush of PFW reports that John Fox and Jeff Fisher will both be let go after the season. I'm just trying to give you guys some hope...

chuck 12-19-2010 12:37 PM

And it looks like I was dead wrong about Quin and Jackson becoming serviceable.

The Texans are getting ass raped 21-0 in the first quarter by a last place team. It is incredible that McNair says that the team is on the right track and that he is going to retain the head coach.
