Schobel

I'm hearing they two sides are talking again...

WMH 09-27-2010 04:42 PM

At this point.....whatever. Depends on who they cut for the roster spot. Don't forget, Cush will be back week 5, so someone is already gonna be on the chopping block.

There is no way this dude is in shape, much less "football" shape. I would have been stoked if they would have signed him a month ago, but 3 weeks into the season, you are looking at week 7 or 8 for him to be in game shape.

Ain't my money, and if he can contribute the 2nd half of the season for a post season run, more power to them/him.

On the plus side, it takes less time to get into "football shape" to become a situational pass rusher than it does to get into "every down shape."

I hope to hear that the two sides have stopped talking.

I saw this in LZ's blog:

Question
Any more news out of Columbus ?

Response from LZ:
As for Schobel, there are more and more rumors that the big man is working out and getting in shape and more and more people in Columbus, Tx. think he's getting ready to come back.

More from McClain

He must not have been in shape at all for them not to sign him. As bad as our pass rush is, I would think they would have reached and possibly overpaid to get some heat on the QB. If he needs a few more weeks, then he must really have let himself go. Dissapointing.

not sure how he would have gotten that much further out of shape in 4 weeks. seems like the texans have been gun shy on this one all along. very disappointing.

Fonz the Boss 09-28-2010 07:42 PM

If we would have signed him he would have been overweight and possibly just going through the motions. This is a great thing

The mans heart was/is just not in to another season. He had already checked out of the league mentally, but like a lot of us, he remembered the fun and wanted to maybe experience it again. Just didn't have the "want to" to get it done.

What the heck happened to the Ogunleye (sp?) and Denney signings?

As an after thought, I went to the official site and checked the roster. Both of these guys are on there, and both are DE's. So why ain't they playing for crying out loud?????
