The Texans face the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday in a battle of two 5-7 teams.

The Texans will be without RB Steve Slaton (IR) and will more than likely go with Chris Brown and Ryan Moats. Rookie Arian Foster is also expected to see some action.

The Seahawks are coming off a 20-17 win over the 49'ers and have a 41-0 shellacking of the Jags on their resume so they can't be taken lightly.

Texans are currently favored by 6 to 6.5.

Houston area will only get two afternoon games this Sunday - Texans @ noon and the Cowboys @ 3pm.

Anybody know what the rules are for determining when a city does or doesn't get a third game (either early or late) on Sundays ?
I don't really dislike the Cowboys that much, but I do always watch the Texans and I tire of the Cowboys being the only choice I get when their
game (be it early or late) is on the other time slot Sunday afternoon ?

I don't know the exact rules...BUT, since we are on FOX this week, CBS has the other noon game that is not shown here due to a rule/gentlemen's agreement regarding the hometown viewing audience for home games. Which I never really understand why it is just home games...Last week (at least I think it was last week) we were on CBS and there was another game on Fox at the same slot. PIP is nice!

The way I understand it, each Sunday between CBS and FOX, one of them will get a "doubleheader" - an early and late game. When they don't have the doubleheader and it is a home game, is when the 1-game-for-each-station kicks in. It's a little confusing....

Edit: As for the Cowboys game, I usually just put the TV on mute and listen to the post-game Texans stuff on the radio....

I always watch the Texans first and as far as the second game goes I always watch the Cowboys game. Not becaue I like or dislike them, its just fun to watch games with big time matchups.... Boys vs. Chargers game will be packed with many of the league's top superstars and should be a fun game to watch.

As far as the Texans game goes, the Seahawks are a pass first team with Hasselbeck so I wont be surprised if our secondary gets torched... again.

But below is more from the Wiki link you provided which explains how Fox and CBS decide who gets the doubleheader and singleheaer each weekend. Turns out there really is a method to their maddness in the process of determining who gets what each weekend.

Yeah, I was speaking in the context of fan base morale.... The owner, GM, coach, QB, waterboy, etc. all suck a little less after a "W".... :)

The best we could hope for is to go 9-7 and hope we're in the mix. We're not making the playoffs obviously, but it'd be nice to go 9-7 because the last wild card is going to be 9-7 for sure.

Then it's going to piss me off that if we had won ONE of the six games we've blown, we'd be in.

Thought I'd check out the commentary on this game considering the score. I like having John Lynch as an announcer more than Steve Tasker.

Is this effort too little, too late? Perhaps the Seahawks aren't very good, so we are seeing a very good Texans team in comparison. The one thing I'll say, this team isn't quitting on it's coach like the Capers' team quit on him.
