Official Texans @ Bills Game Thread, 11/01/2009

Discuss the game action in here.

One game doesn't make a season, but it seems to me we'll know a lot about what kind of team the Texans are in 2009 based on how they handle just this one game.

And no excuses about the weather. Sure, upper 40s may be cool, but this is football. No precipitation, winds under 10 mph.... sounds like a nice day actually.

Roy P 11-01-2009 11:01 AM

Inactives: Fred Bennett, Frank Okam, Nick Ferguson, Anthony Hill.

Arky 11-01-2009 11:11 AM

Pivotal game. Just a golden opportunity for the team to "cross the bridge" and stay there....

Seems like every week, but I see turnovers again as being critical. Texans must not cough it up to the opportunistic Bills.....

Roy P 11-01-2009 11:21 AM

The good news is that Kyle Williams, Donte Whitner, and Shawn Nelson are out for them.

Bennet must have really gotten into the dog house to be inactive again. I though he was fairly promising as a rook, but he sure doesn't seem to fit what Gibbs Jr is trying to do.

All I ask is that we don't forget that TO is still on this team. I don't care what alot of TO haters have to say about him, he is still a very dangerous threat. I am not concerned about Lee Evans' speed as much as I am about TO's size. We need Mario to take up residence in the backfield today.

We're a better man-to-man team... We just don't do as well in zone....

TheMatrix31 11-01-2009 12:14 PM

Oh jeez. Owen's down.

TheMatrix31 11-01-2009 12:19 PM

What's the deal with that 3 yard nonsense?

Turk's punt fair caught by the Bills at their 23 but refs mysteriously place the ball at the 26....

Pass to TO good for about 3. One of the Bills (Meredith) is down.

Bills 7, Texans 0

2:31 left in the 1st quarter.

chuck 11-01-2009 12:38 PM

Two things are constant week in and week out. One, Slaton is an unrepentant fumbler. Two, Marciano's special teams make Raiders-like mistakes.

Arky 11-01-2009 12:38 PM

AD brings the kickoff back to the 25.

Schaub hits AJ for 12.

Moats for about 13 - crosses midfield.

Big Texas 11-01-2009 12:38 PM

If we were playing anyone else we would be losing 21-0 right now. This is definitely a terrible way to make your case for a playoff push.

However, with all the misfortune we have time to turn it around.

TheMatrix31 11-01-2009 12:41 PM

Terrible late hit call there.

Arky 11-01-2009 12:42 PM

42 yard attempt by K Brown is good.

Arky 11-01-2009 12:49 PM

Big Texas 11-01-2009 12:59 PM

This is where we truly see if OD was a product of the offense.

Whatever...

TheMatrix31 11-01-2009 01:03 PM

Slaton's fumbling is in his head.

Arky 11-01-2009 01:04 PM

Screen to C Brown goes for -1.

Definitely. However, I say ride the hot hand. Moats is doing great. But we should see Slaton, I hope, after the half.

Big Texas 11-01-2009 01:09 PM

For every 3 good plays we run one dumb one. The hand off to Chris Brown, who in turn tries to bounce outside.
