My 2010 watch list is starting
DT Ndamukong Suh 6-4 300 Nebraska video he is a man child who needs to grow up.
LB Sean Weatherspoon 6-3 235 Mizzou RB Keiland Williams 5-11 229 LSU Just few guys to wet the pre OTA appetite. |
I think we have pretty much reached the stage where we won't be sucking hind tit at LB anymore, so I would say skill positions, whether offense or defense, will be the overriding factor from now on.

With all the injuries and hold out, and watching the Titans play. I have to add some DBs to watch to my list. Like NBT said the LBs appear to be a much stronger unit. And the DL seems to be OK. The guys in the back are the biggest question on the team.
Lets say Bennett picks his game back up, and Molden starts to show us something, Quinn has already surprised along with McCain. On paper that is nice depth. But it is still upgradable. Wilson and Ferguson will start the season as starters, IMO. Barber has impressed in burst, Busing has flashed in practices, but so has bubbleboy (my name for him) Harrison. I see Nolan as PS squad guy with no room as long as the old guys are here. Who are the guys to target? I am mainly talking round 1 to 3 types. Taylor Mays S 6'4" 225 USC Trevor Lindley CB 6'0" 178 Kentucky Nate Allen S 6'2" 190 South Florida Myron Lewis CB 6'2" 200 Vanderbilt Walter Thurmond III CB 6'0" 175 Oregon Javier Arenas CB 5'9" 200 Alabama Darrell Stuckey S 6'1" 205 Kansas Anderson Russell S 6'0" 205 Ohio State Kyle Wilson CB 5'10" 190 Boise State Jerrell Norton CB 6'1" 190 Arkansas Brian Jackson CB 6'1" 202 Oklahoma Myron Rolle S 6'2" 215 Florida State Van Eskridge S 6'0" 200 East Carolina Jordan Lake S 6'2" 203 Baylor P.J. Mahone CB 5'11" 201 Bowling Green Patrick Robinson CB 5'11" 184 Florida State In my mind we are going to need to add one safety and one CB in the top 3 rounds. Add in a OG or RB in the 2nd round and I think we jump the defense up another notch. Any thought on guys to watch as we get closer to college football time? |
I certainly hope we're not drafting high enouth in the first round next April to have a Mays or Witherspoon on our Board.

Really good CB do not have the ball thrown at them, and really good safeties do not have people going over the middle on them. I am looking for ball hawks right now. The Texans have not had a ball hawk since Glenn left and are in deep need for one. 2 of our rookies have shown signs, but we will all need to see them produce turnovers in the real season. |
If only we could find a Polamalu. Just kidding of course, but that is what we really need. You don't have any trouble finding him on t.v.

Okay, I think we could use another RB who can move the chains and complement Slaton because I don't think Chris Brown is the guy. I'm also wanting a big NT so we can let Zgonina retire already. Everyone realizes we need a FS that can cover and tackle. I'd like to have a tackling machine with speed and instincts to play the WILL. Lastly, I think I'm going to need a RG on the roster so he can learn the system and eventually get on the field.
RB, NT, FS, LB, RG are my positions that I want to fill in the draft. Of course, the Mizzou O-Line isn't much of a test. They have pretty wide spreads between the OLinemen allowing the gaps to be attacked. Anyway, he was a beast in the rain. My man, Weatherspoon didn't dissapoint me either. |

Rolando McClain looks like the best linebacker in the country and a top 10 pick to me. I also like what I've seen of Golden Tate, I think he's going to be a really good pro. He kind of reminds me of a Hines Ward type of player.

Houston Texans: Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford
The Texans could be 7-1 right now if they had a running back who could plunge into the end zone from the 1-yard line. We'll see if Ryan Moats is the answer, but I have my doubts. http://walterfootball.com/draft2010_3.php **************************************** Given the opportunity to watch some Standford games this year I caught a couple because I was interested to see how Andrew Luck, Stanfords red-shirt freshman QB from the Houston area, was playing and I got a look-see at this big tailback who at 'bout 230-235 is certainly not quick but maybe just what we need as a compliment to Slaton/Moats ? Anyway looks like Walter has us taking him in the 3rd round on a recent mock, but dunno if Kubiabk would go that high for this thumper, assuming he'd even be interested ? Also, he's a steller baseball prospect which makes for additional risk if picked ? |
We have two RB on the practice squad. Wonder if either of them will get a shot one of these days?
