Official Texans @ Titans Game Thread, 12/19/2010
Moving ahead, the 5-8 Texans will travel to Nashville this Sunday to take on the 5-8 Tennessee Titans. The Titans have the benefit of extra rest coming off a Thursday night game while the Texans have less than usual rest coming off a Monday night game. It is the second and final meeting in 2010 between the two as the Texans won the first game 20-0. Banged up from the Monday night game, David Anderson, Mike Brisiel and Mario Williams may or may not be available to play for the Texans. The Titans currently sport a 6 game losing streak.

I will probably set my DVR for this one for the simple fact that I want the Texans to beat Bud's team. I can always erase it later.
If the dadgum defense will play for 4 quarters the way they played in the 4th quarter Monday night, we won't get behind by 21 points coming out of the shute. It really gripes that we have one of the better offenses in the NFL and the absolute worst defense. Do the secondary players even get coached? KJ's feet look like a ducks on land the way he tries to backpedal. Jeeeez! |
Still hoping for a win. Somehow over the Titans. Put the Titans in the cellar.
Wonder how AJ will have fun with Titans DB's , especially Finnegan this game, although AJ's ankle looked pretty sore end of last game? I'm guessing a camera will be following them very closely. Looks like Texans signed DT DeMario Pressley, 6'3", 301 lbs. previously with N.O and WR Derrick Townsel, 5'9" , 175 Lb speedster previously a rookie with Jacksonville, a speedster and kick returner in collece, N.C. State, to the active roster to replace guys going to IR. See if they even get on active list, depends on injuries status. Oh yeah, I predict Texans win 21-20. I've only been wrong on score and winner about eight times this year. |

Well, it looks like I was right about Sharpton and it looks like I was right about Mitchell. That's the good news. And the bad?
Good god, this secondary is horrible. It is a disgrace to organized football everywhere. Not news, I guess. |
Nice return by Slaton on the kickoff - brings it all the way back into Titan territory at the Titan 44.

Terrible play calling, terrible execution.
|
Oh my goodness, ball should have been INT'ed but deflects into Britt's hands for a deep completion at the Texan 3.
CJ sweeps left for -2. 2nd and goal at the 5. Flag pre-snap. Neutral zone infraction on the Texans - 1/2 the distance. Pass on 2nd down goes inc. 3rd and goal at the 2.5. CJ for about 1 or 2. Hub Arkush of PFW reports that John Fox and Jeff Fisher will both be let go after the season. I'm just trying to give you guys some hope...
|
And it looks like I was dead wrong about Quin and Jackson becoming serviceable.
The Texans are getting ass raped 21-0 in the first quarter by a last place team. It is incredible that McNair says that the team is on the right track and that he is going to retain the head coach. |
If this game continues the way it is....Kubiak's gone tomorrow morning.
And JUST SAY NO to Fox AND Fisher. |
Slaton brings the kickoff back to the Texan 20.

So, we will come back to get beat again. Maybe we come back from 28 or 35 before we do it.
|
On 3rd and 9, pass to JJ only gets about 3. Texans to punt.
Flag pre-snap. False start Texans -5. Titans bring the punt back to their 23 but flag on the play. Holding on Titans, 1/2 the distance. Puts the ball at the Titan 9. 13:57 left in the half. |

Timeout Texans. Punt is downed at the Texans 7. 2 minute warning. |
Maybe McNair will now understand that you don't have anything but counterproductive results from your players (and coachs) when you brag on them and hand-out atta boys after losing another the game and being 5-8 ?
In the future maybe he realizes you threaten 'em with pink-slips when they screw-up as badly as this ? |
Pass to Dreessen goes for 9.
Deep pass to KW is overthrown. Makes it 3rd and 1. Pass to JJ gets 7, 1st down. Timeout Texans with 1:25 left in the half. |

Gary Kubiak burns a time out leaving him with one in order to save 8 seconds. He demonstrates again and again that he is staggeringly stupid.

Antonio Smith is a thuggish, unintelligent POS.

Slaton brings the 2nd half kickoff back to the Texans 23 but flag on the play. Offsides Titans, rekick.

On 1st and goal, Schuab is sacked back at the 13.
Pass to AJ good for the TD! Titans 24, Texans 10 |
I think I've figured it out. Kubiak is in a fantasy league and Schaub is his quarterback. That explains why he lets his team fall way behind early so Schaub has to pass every down. Plus, he never fixes the defense so as to make sure Schaub has to keep throwing. Now, it all makes sense.
|
9:17 left in the 3rd.
Mariani brings the kickoff back to the Titan 36. Pass to Cook goes for big gainer. Ball at the Texan 37. Pass to Britt goes for 17. Pass to Washington is caught out of bounds, inc. 2nd and 10 coming up. CJ for no gain. Makes it 3rd and 10. Pass is INT'ed by Allen! Texans ball at their 16! |
