Official Texans vs. Bengals Thread, 10/26/2008

The Texans look to close out their Oktoberfest on a three-game winning streak at home against the Bengals. Can they do it, and can they do it convincingly??

Arky 10-26-2008 02:25 PM

Texans kickoff. Cincy goes 3 and out and has to punt.

JJ on the 73 yd TD return!

Texans 7, Bengals 0

TheMatrix31 10-26-2008 03:12 PM

I'm royally pissed. I set the game to record on 708 because it was listed as being on there. It wasn't. It's on 713.

I missed the return.

Arky 10-26-2008 03:25 PM

Cincy puts together a time consuming drive and attempts a 43 yard FG. FG is good.

Texans 7, Bengals 3

Big Texas 10-26-2008 03:26 PM

I hope that lack of pressure on the previous pass was not a sign of things to come.

But I will take the "hands up" approach.

Arky 10-26-2008 03:36 PM

Texans take the kickoff and move into Cincy territory but fail to convert on 3rd down. Turk punts it to the Cincy 19.

Linebackers - where fore art thou?

End of 1st quarter

popanot 10-26-2008 03:45 PM

Damn I hate this defense! If they're not giving up 8yds per pass, the QB is running for a 1st down!!!

Arky 10-26-2008 03:46 PM

Nice break up of the deep pass by Eugene Wilson so Cincy has to punt. Texans ball on their own 9.

TheMatrix31 10-26-2008 03:59 PM

LMAO! David Anderson with the Conan "string" dance!

Arky 10-26-2008 03:59 PM

Texans put together a long drive culminating in a 6 yd TD pass to David Anderson.

Texans 14, Bengals 3

About 3:23 left till halftime...

Big Texas 10-26-2008 04:03 PM

I am getting the strangest sense of deja vu. Hopefully we dont repeat last weeks second half performance.

We have been allowing several underneath completions. I guess its better than giving up the bomb to ocho cinco (or chad johnson, whatever he wants to be called).

Big Texas 10-26-2008 04:11 PM

week after week we are going to have the same issues defensively until we get a new scheme. Our d-line is hustling after the qb but we are just always out of position. I think that is an obvious result of bad playcalling.

Arky 10-26-2008 04:14 PM

Cincy drive stalls out and they kick the FG.

Texans 14, Bengals 6

:50 left in the half.

Arky 10-26-2008 04:25 PM

Halftime:

Texans 14, Bengals 6

Stats:

Schaub: 14/17 for 135 yds. 1 TD, 0 INT

Rushing: Green 2/14 (7.0 avg), Slaton 7/11 (1.6 avg.)

Rec: Johnson 5/61 (12.2 avg), Anderson 2/28 (14.0 avg.) 1 TD

Leading Tacklers: Diles 6, Robinson 5, Ferguson 4, Wilson 4

Time of Possession: Bengals 15:10, Texans 14:50

popanot 10-26-2008 04:40 PM

1. Our run blocking sucks.
2. While AJ is having a big game, he's taking some big hits. Schaub needs to figure out how to lead a receiver without laying them out to dry.

Arky 10-26-2008 04:42 PM

Texans receive 2nd half kickoff and move right down the field with Schaub going to AJ many times. Walter gets the 7 yd TD pass..

Texans 21, Bengals 6

painekiller 10-26-2008 04:45 PM

Molden has been everywhere on special teams.

Solid game plan on offense.

Same old bland defense.

Arky 10-26-2008 04:50 PM

Bengals have a 3 and out and punt. Texans ball near midfield...

painekiller 10-26-2008 04:55 PM

Now that was a bad defensive play. Glad Walters stayed alert and took off. TD #2 for Walters.
