The argument is not in the interest of getting a new QB, its just releasing frustration about a last second play (and call) that looked, for lack of a better word, unrehearsed.

And I don't bring up the passing yards to prove he had a good game. He didn't have a good game. But he is not even near the front of the line when I am assessing blame to our offense. He played under pressure all game and had no protection. Sacked repeatedly, 6 balls batted down, no WRs getting open downfield. No running game to help him out. No running plays called (or screens) to slow down the pass rush. And he still moved the ball all day by throwing to guys like Joel Dreesen.

As for the final drive, it is a miracle we get down there with a bad punt return, a facemask on our gimply RG who should not have been on the field, no pass protection, and a bad snap. We managed to convert two 20+ yard conversions just on that drive (1st and 25 and 3rd and 23).

Not to mention he already threw what should have been the game tying TD to Vickers on the previous drive (the very fact that we are throwing to Vickers shows either a coaching/substitution screw up or a personell issue).

OL, play-calling, Jacoby Jones, and bad special teams play screwed us in this game, and the AJless offense could not overcome that.

No argument here. It was a screwup. Schaub is not a good off schedule QB and we won't win many games waiting for him to scramble for TDs on broken plays.

I agree 100%...

BUT

Shaub still had a chance to overcome all those negatives and win the game (which is what winners do)...LOL

Barretts right, I just saw the replay and he gets maybe to the 4 yard line before he's tackled if he trys to run it into the EZ.

I'm still trying to understand why that call was to Vickers rather than Casey. Casey might have been hurt.

I don't know why Kubiak wasted a valuable timeout challenging a call that he clearly had no chance of overturning. It is absolutely inexcusable for Kubiak to continue to make these kinds of mistakes.

Why didn't have a quick-hit play called at the end to allow them another chance if the first call didn't work?

The Texans managed to look as bad as the stupidest, most undisciplined team in the history of football. Worse, actually.

Nconroe 10-09-2011 04:55 PM

Lot nf bad play, back to not over the hump yet.

If he ran to the pylon, he would have been able to dive and hit it.

Casey was hurt. Him and Mario are expected to be evaluated again tonight.

That play that was challenged was a potential first down play. If not, we punt. The challenge HAD to be made. And it was a catch. You know it and I know it. Just inconclusive.

Kubiak had a lot of problems today, and the playcalling was pretty weak. Tough to have a good playbook without the best wide receiver in football and your two backup RBs out, but still.

This loss falls on Schaub, offensive line, and Jacoby Jones. Plain and simple.

I guess you didn't see him get run down by 320 lb DT Tommy Kelly. But somehow you think he is beating the safety to the Pylon?

So with Casey hurt that means schaub played the last two drives with no running plays and Walter, jones, dreesen, Daniels and foster. Street FAs at 3 and 4 WR. Practice squad backup rb. Backup fb. And an OL getting owned.

It was clearly not a catch, and it was even clearer that there was not nearly enough to overturn it.

Kubiak has time and time again proven that he has no idea when and how to use the challenge. Neither do you. And once again, I don't care that you are clueless but I do care quite a bit that the head coach is clueless.

Well said. Not sure if it was a catch, but a stupid challenge.

But it's better than throwing a stupid pass and having it end up in a dumb ass pick.

Give yourself a chance to win. Run the damn ball in.

Id rather have Schaub try to make a play throwing the ball rather then try to bull rush it in and having to start Matt Leinart next week.

What the hell is the deal with Bryant Johnson? Is he hurt? Inactive?

Heard he was hurt but active and available in an emergency.

Do you remember what sort of injury it is? I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.

Not sure. Just heard it from McClain on the 610 postgame.

barrett 10-09-2011 05:32 PM

Also heard they suspect a torn pec for Mario which would mean ir. Casey may be the same injury.

I heard that too but whenever I hear that guy speaking I quit paying close attention and wasn't sure whether he was talking about Johnson or Kareem Jackson.

I heard that, too. This season is teetering on the edge of disaster. Andy Reid is currently in the lead in good old chuck's 2012 straw poll.
