Right position but not the guy I would have chosen. Jackson is a little on the small side but a Bama guy is at least going to be well-coached.

Joe Joe 04-22-2010 08:40 PM

Not a bad pick. Need pick, but not a reach.

Fonz the Boss 04-22-2010 08:43 PM

Dan Williams, Kyle Wilson and Devin McCourty still available.... One of the playoff teams at the bottom of the first round will cash it in.

HPF Bob 04-22-2010 08:43 PM

Reports are that Denver moved up two with New England. Hmm. Fishy. is this where they pick Dez Bryant or maybe Claussen?

Edit: Demaryius Thomas. I think they could have stayed put two more selections for that.

Nconroe 04-22-2010 08:57 PM

Kareem Jackson isn't small at 5' 10 1/2 " and 196 lbs. Shutdown corner and very good tackler , very high pass defense rating at 90. Sounds pretty good.

HPF Bob 04-22-2010 08:58 PM

It's really gonna suck when they get past the Saints' pick and they start turning off the lights. I'm just now starting to get into this.

popanot 04-22-2010 08:59 PM

Why can't we ever trade down like the Pats?? I would think Kareem, Wilson or McCourty would've been there. :(

TexanJedi 04-22-2010 09:01 PM

Dang Cowboys got a steal.

popanot 04-22-2010 09:01 PM

Adios, Roy Williams!

That's a damn good question.

The Cowboys get Dez Bryant.....ha.

Dan Williams is still on the board? Ravens and Cardinals and Patriots and Dolphins are all licking their chops.

kravix 04-22-2010 09:14 PM

Tebow to Denver. Wow.

HPF Bob 04-22-2010 09:18 PM

McDaniels just pulled a Babin. He gave up a 2nd, 3rd and 4th to get a guy who may not even be able to play the position he was projected for. Amazing.

Roy P 04-22-2010 09:18 PM

Dan Williams selected 6 picks too late. Whisenhunt adds to his defense.

Yeah, Ozzie Newsome pulled a Casserly and got a bunch of picks from a desperate head coach. I wonder if McDaniels is more successful than Ditka.

nunusguy 04-22-2010 09:25 PM

The 49ers take Anthony Davis and Iupati. Talk about your OLine getting better,
a lot better literally over night.
And Tebow goes in first round ! To Denver, who knew ?

HPF Bob 04-22-2010 09:26 PM

Someone pointed out on one of the Broncos boards that they drafted Tebow because they don't have a center on the roster and Tebow doesn't need one. He can immaculately snap himself the ball and then run over the defensive line. :p

nunusguy 04-22-2010 09:32 PM

OK, good deal we got our corner. Tomorrow might we get a running back. Who we takin, Gerhardt or Tate or Hardesty ?

I'm guessing Gerhart. At least tonight.

Roy P 04-22-2010 09:37 PM

Kyle Wilson, Cromartie, Revis Island......can anybody, even Tom Brady throw against the Jets?

TexanJedi 04-22-2010 09:37 PM

I would like to see Toby. I wonder if they would take Best if he were there. Rick Smith said they want backs who can score.

Joe Joe 04-22-2010 09:38 PM

My guess will be McCluster with another RB later in draft.

Nevermind. The Lions just figured it out.

HPF Bob 04-22-2010 09:50 PM

It will be awhile before we pick in the second so don't feel secure that Gerhard is going to be around either.

I don't disagree with taking a corner in the first round. That was an important get- and with Berry and Thomas gone, safety falls down to a fourth or fifth round priority. So let's get a lineman or a RB next. I might prefer a lineman if no stud RBs are left in the second.

TexanJedi 04-22-2010 10:04 PM

Oh man Taylor Mays is still on the board as well. Don't suppose 18 other guys will be taken before him tomorrow.

Fonz the Boss 04-22-2010 10:34 PM

We need to go DB on the second round as well. I think the Jets just proved to everyone that if you are playing on a conference against Peyton Manning and Tom Brady you need to have a solid secondary for those nickel packages. The Jets already had Cromartie and Revis yet they still went ahead and picked Kyle Wilson with their pick. That lets you know that they are drafting for those playoff matchups against the Patriots and Colts.
