Stupid Texans (too many men). Stupid Jags (running a gut play for 2 points). Big hit at the goal line by Reid.

Texans get the onsides kick and run the clock out.

Final score:

Texans 13, Jags 12

Well, it was a pretty ugly W.....

Titans just screwed the pooch. Texans tied for first in their division at 1-1.

Once again the rest of the division sucks worse than we do.

Raise your hand if you involuntarily screamed "timeout!" at the TV at the close of the first half.

--------------------------------------------

Watson seemed a little off today.....just a little.... yeah, he was 16/29 and even had a few drops but the accuracy didn't seem to be all there. First quarter or so, it looked like the plan was dink and dunk and not get him (Watson) killed. Later it was like "eff it, let's get some chunk yardage" and he starts taking more hits and even runs it in himself for a TD. Still, I gotta think his back is bothering him......

Early line has the Chargers as a 3½ pt favorite over the Texans next Sunday. This would be an excellent game to steal a win - a conference road game. They can do it, but they are 1-5 all time vs. Chargers...

Dreadful game, but we all know a W is a W... especially good to win the first one, win in the division, and win at home. Good teams find a way to win these on days when they don't have it.

And not to be a Texans homer... but let's remember how this game is coming on a short week after a rather deflating game where defeat was grabbed from the clutches of victory in New Orleans. Apologies to Mercilus who provided the key play, but this was something of an early trap game where just dumb luck get the Texans to face a rookie backup QB who essentially gifted the Texans with their winning TD.

Tunsil returned from what seems to be a minor injury, whew. So a good test coming up next on the road to the Chargers before a pair of games at home leading up to the roadies at KC and Indy.

Oddly enough I felt better last Monday coming off of our loss to the Saints than I do this morning after our first victory, but 1-1 sure does seem much better than 0-2.

SD and Houston may both be 1-1, but I don't think they're in the same hemisphere in terms of talent. Chargers should win easily if they overcome their Charger-esque talent for employing crappy kickers.

Now Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. Hmmm. Maybe the Texans can offer our first round pick in 2022...

YouTube commentator on this game:

"Have you ever seen two teams suck so badly they *deserved* to be on Thursday Night Football?"
