Just keep giving us chances...defense looks pathetic

Big Texas 12-06-2015 03:00 PM

The true Hoyer stands talk

Arky 12-06-2015 03:02 PM

Hmmm, 2 minute drive time....

The ensuing kickoff is a touchback.

----------------------------------------

Texan's ball at their 20.

Pass to Washington is broken up, inc. 2nd and 10 coming up.

Pass to Hop too low and inc. Brings up 3rd and 10.

Oh my goodness, Hoyer's throw off the mark, Shorts was open. Texans going for it on 4th down.....

Timeout Texans (#1).

Pass to Shorts is broken up, inc. Ball turns over on downs.

Arky 12-06-2015 03:06 PM

Bills ball at the Texan 20.

McCoy goes left for no gain.

McCoy for no gain. Texans use their final timeout.

On 3rd and 10, Taylor keeps for 2. Bills will go for the FG.

37 seconds left in the game.

Carpenter's 36-yarder is good.

Bills 30, Texans 21

popanot 12-06-2015 03:10 PM

Defense was awful, Nate Washington is trash and for the life of me I don't understand how he plays over any other WR on the roster, and Hoyer was, well, Hoyer. They had opportunities, but no one made a big play when they needed one.

WMH 12-06-2015 03:10 PM

Well hell.

Let's go Steelers.

chuck 12-06-2015 03:11 PM

This was basically a must-win game. I don't understand their leaving Simon alone on the edge in the first half, and I don't understand why Hoyer rarely looked to Nuke when he had him in one on one coverage, especially in that crucial series.

Big Texas 12-06-2015 03:15 PM

I keep setting myself up to believe and hope that Hoyer would be more than who he truly is..."an overachieving backup"...He had a number of chances to step up to the plate...but he over threw, under threw, and fell apart when the team needed him...I counted at least 4 deep balls to open receivers and he couldn't complete the pass...

Well can 9-7 get us in...there's no way we beat NE...

Arky 12-06-2015 03:16 PM

The ensuing kickoff goes out of the endzone, touchback.

-------------------------------------------------

Texan's ball at their 20 with 33 seconds left in the game.

Pass to Shorts gets 10.

Pass to Griffin goes to about the Texan 45. A Bill (Brooks) injured on the play.... 19 seconds left.

Short pass to Grimes gets 4. 14 seconds left.

Hoyer's pass off the mark, inc. 9 seconds left.

On 3rd and 6, pass to Shorts goes to the Bills 28. 3 seconds left.

Pass into the endzone is INT'ed.

Time expires.

Final score:

Bills 30, Texans 21

---------------------------------------------

Hoyer inaccurate when it counted... Missed opportunities all over. Of course the Colts will lose tonight....

chuck 12-06-2015 03:31 PM

I don't have any illusions about who or what Yates is but I'm sorry to say that the offense looks more lively when he's out there. Hoyer just brings so little.

Don't know that TJ is going to complete 60% of his passes and 3 TD'S. Dude was on the couch until week 10 for a reason.

D read too many headlines and didn't come ready to play. Especially in the 1st half. Didn't really care for the personnel groupings either.

And the atrocious ST came back today....

I agree with all of this except the overachieving part. Hoyer has never had results and is just a coach's favorite type. Any coach or GM giving him a job should have one themselves.

Chuck, I am proud to say I was not bothered at any point today. They almost made me care again after last week, but not quite. This is a broken team, and rooting for them to win enough 9-7 games to get trounced in the playoffs is pointless. We are just pretending when we have Hoyer to Washington at key moments. I enjoyed the Katy-Manvel game at NRG far more then this one. It was nice seeing excellence on that field.

Good for you. You're ahead of me on that front. Although I did leave the house after the game and had a pleasant enough afternoon whereas in the past I would have stayed at home and tortured myself with the postgame show where crazed rednecks call in and complain about everything they can think of, not unlike me on this board.

And anyway at least Keith saw a spike in traffic today.

Glad to see you two realize that this is entertainment. If it gets to the point that it's not, find something else to do.

Personally, I would like to have the playoffs, even if we're a 9-7 team that will get schlacked. It's another game that matters to me. Most likely scenario now would be a Division title, which means a home game and even better entertainment. Good stuff as far as I'm concerned.

We should never be to the point to where we are counting on Hoyer to win a game. That ain't him. He's a game manager and needs support from his WR's to catch balls that hit their hands, and decent showings from the D and ST. Didn't get that from the D in the 1st half, didn't get it all from the ST. That equals an L.

Now, let's not get crazy here.

Yeah, me too. I'd much rather see my team in the playoffs than not in the playoffs. One more (two more? three more?) game(s) is bonus entertainment....

Philly beat them in NE yesterday, and Philly is not good this year. Trouble is it was NEs 2nd straight loss which means we'd have to be the team which hands them their 3rd straight loss to win this upcoming game. The Pats do have a ton of injuries and Gronk is out again next week. After Pitt beat Indy by five TDs last night, we've still got a shot. Hey something to play for this weekend - we've got a shot, and more that than just on paper. We are 6-6 as is Indy.

Not saying we can't beat NE, but Philly beat them on a 100yd Pick-6 and 2 Special Teams TD's. I can't remember the last time our ST's won a game for us or even had a big part in a W. It will definitely be a tough game, and hopefully the D will show up again. Every game at this point is pretty much a must-win.

nunusguy 12-07-2015 01:50 PM

Listening to local Sports talk radio this morning when several callers blamed yesterdays loss on O'Briend & RAC, saying they were out coached by Ryan and his staff. I don't buy it. For quite a few years we had a guy like Sammy Watkins, a freak athletic WR who on a couple plays in a game could make the difference between a win or loss that day.

I think the Texans do have a guy like Sammy Watkins, they just don't have anyone who can get him the ball. Also, their running backs are much better than the Texans' running backs.

I do think that there was an element of being outcoached in the first quarter. But at least they made some adjustments.
