Pass over the middle to DA good for 15 and a 1st down. Ball at the Jags 19.
Dump to AJ gets about 11 and makes it 1st and goal from the 9. 2 minutes till halftime. |
So we spot them 17 and then try to make some miraculous comeback. Why does everything have to be so damn dramatic around here.
P.S. Jacque Reeves; the story is out that you cant cover. |
If there is any team that knows how tenuous a first half 17-point lead can be, it's these Texans.
Man, what a different offense this is with Schaub. An accurate QB is essential for it to work, which is why the Grossman signing was such a mind boggler to me. The things Grossman does well and not so well are like the polar opposite of what this offense needs. |
C Brown punches it in from the 9!
Jags 17, Texans 7 1:56 left in the half. |
If we can get a quick turnover, we can make this a game again.
|
Kickoff goes out of the endzone so Jags ball at their 20.
Thomas on the end around gets 6. 2nd and 4 coming up. Pass to Thomas good for 11. 1st down pass almost picked by Reeves - ends up inc. Draw to Jennings goes for 11. 1:01 left in the half. Ball at the Jags 47. |
Gee, how did I know Jacksoffville would score by the end of the half?
|
Garrard scrambles for 12.
Pass to Jennings good for 8. Pass to Thomas good for 4. Jags in FG range. 15 seconds left in the half. 1st down pass goes inc. Scobee on for the FG. 46 yard attempt is good. Jags 20, Texans 7 5 seconds left in the half. |
AD brings the squib kick back to the Texans 38.
Halftime. |
Halftime stats:
Passing: Schaub 6/6, 53 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT; Grossman 3/9, 33 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT Rushing: Moats 7/31, C Brown 3/12, Grossman 3/5 Receiving: KW 2/28, AJ 2/17, C Brown 2/11, DA 1/15, Moats 1/10, VL 1/5 Tackles: Pollard 5, Ryans/McCain 4 each, Diles 3, A Smith/Reeves/Bulman/Cushing 2 each 3rd down conversions: Texans 3/7, Jags 4/8 Turnovers: Texans 1, Jags 0 Time of possession: Texans 13:56, Jags 16:04 |
So we are on opposite ends of the spectrum from last week.
|
Seems as though the sucky half is the first half today.... We should get "good Texans" in the 2nd half....
|
My question is, are we good for only one good drive this game. If so we already had.
Another thing is, Del Rio is gonna come out the second half with adjustments. Lets see if Suckiak is ready for his adjustments. |
AD brings the 2nd half kickoff back to the Texan 33.
1st down pass to KW goes inc. Moats for no gain. Brings up 3rd and 10. Flag pre-snap. False start Texans. Brings up 3rd and 15. Dump to AJ goes for 14 and just short of the 1st down. Texans have to punt. Turk's punt rolls all the way to the 3. Jags ball. |
Is this the first safety ever? Honestly.
|
On 1st down snap is fumbled. No gain.
On 2nd down, MJD slips and Garrard is tackled for a Safety! 2 pts. Jags 20, Texans 9 Jags have to kick it back to the Texans. |

Martinez fumbles the punt-off but recovers and brings it back to the Texan 39.
Dump to Moats good for 12. Ball at the Jags 49. Moats for 1. Schaub scrambles for 7. Brings up 3rd and 2. Henderson (Jags) shaken up on the play. Pass to DA bounces off his hands right into the hands of Durrant who returns the INT all the way to the Texan 40. |
Predicted the turnover yet again.
**sigh** |
Jags get -1. 2nd and 11 coming up.
2nd down pass goes inc. Dunta slaps it away. 3rd down pass complete to Holt for about 16 and the 1st down. Flag on the play. False start offense brings up 1st and 15. MJD for 3. Pass to Sims-Walker good for the 1st down. Ball at the Texan 15. MJD for 4. 2nd down pass goes inc. Brings up 3rd and 6 from the 11. MJD cuts back for the 1st down at the 5. 1st and goal Jags. MJD for no gain. Garrard for no gain. Brings up 3rd and goal from the 5. |
3rd down pass sails out of the endzone so Jags to go for the FG.
24 yard attempt is good. Jags 23, Texans 9 |
Come on defense, we need you today. Too much time for Garrard to complete his passes.
|
AD brings the kickoff back to the 21.
Screen to Moats good for 2. Low pass to AJ goes inc. Brings up 3rd and 8. Schaub sacked, fumbles but Jags get called for roughness/facemask. Auto 1st down Texans at the Texan 33. C Brown for no gain. |
No Owen Daniels, no Steve Slaton, no Jacoby Jones, and no Matt Schaub (for most of the first half)...... Did we even have a shot at winning? With our shaky defense?
|
2nd down pass to DA looks inc. but Kubes throws the red flag. Replay looks favorable....
Play is ruled a catch! Brings up 3rd and 5 @ the Texan 38. No one open so Schaub has to throw it away. Texans have to punt. Punt is muffed! AD recovers at the Jags 16! |
It's going to be an uphill battle from here. We must score on this possession.
|
A TD here makes it a one-possession game. Hard to fathom after the 14-point hole Sexy Rexy put us in. Come on, guys. Pick this up.
|
Moats sweeps for 2.
Pass to AJ goes for 4. 3rd and 4 coming up. C Brown is tripped up for a gain of 1. Brings up 4th and 3. False start offense -5. K Brown on for the FG. 33 yard attempt is good. Jags 23, Texans 12 |
You might as well SPIKE it instead of these stupid playcalls.
|
LMFAO if only they ran that Andre screen on first.
|
Aye aye aye aye aye

Here's a problematic situation - when McNair shitcans Kubiak after this year the new guy is obviously going to ditch this stupid zone blocking bullshit. Which will mean finding bigger interior linemen, you know, guys who can actually block and pass protect and all that esoteric stuff. The team desperately needs secondary help and defensive line help. How do they approach the draft? I would expect them to draft secondary first and DL second and try to fill the gaping needs at OL through FA.
