T. Knighton - Ouch. We're going to need a BIG RB now.

Niners just took Glen Coffee.... and the RB pool gets a little more shallow.

It's gonna be a long wait to the 4th round if the Texans don't grab an RB here.

But man, Chip Vaughn is enticing, too.

Roy P 04-26-2009 09:49 AM

If Jerry keeps his hands off my Chip, I'll wait until the 4th for a RB.

Roy P 04-26-2009 09:52 AM

Whew! I liked Brewster until he ran. However, I didn't imagine he'd be drafted before Duke Robinson.

Nconroe 04-26-2009 09:54 AM

we're up, all available, see what happens, OG Cladwell, looks pretty good

TexanJedi 04-26-2009 09:54 AM

Brown or Rashad Johnson or Chip Vaughn please.

TexanJedi 04-26-2009 09:57 AM

A Bama guy, I am happy though Brown would have been nice.

Roy P 04-26-2009 09:58 AM

This is why I didn't want to do a 7 round mock draft. Right now it's like a freakin' free for all. I was thinking about adding Levy to my UDFA list.

papabear 04-26-2009 09:58 AM

I was sure it would be a RB or S....but I like the Caldwell pick. Could we trading back into the third for the S or RB....or will they wait it out?

Roy P 04-26-2009 09:59 AM

Wow, I didn't think we'd be this high on Caldwell considering his Combine. In fact, I dropped him to the bottom of the 4th round because of it. Still no RB or SS or CB.

popanot 04-26-2009 10:00 AM

The Texans obviously don't feel RB or S is as big a priority as we do. I'm getting really concerned about having a decent young backup for Slaton. I hope there's an RB in the 4th. :(

Keith 04-26-2009 10:04 AM

Maybe Connor Barwin can run the football this year.

:p

I'm hoping peerman falls to us in the 4th and then we can pick up the best DB on the board w/ our other 4th

not necessarily...they may just have rated the players available differently than we do, or not have the tunnel vision we might have a case of. they could really like someone they think they can get later. IMO every pick has a chance to contribute early. Cush and Caldwell could both start...with barwin playing a huge role on third down.

Roy P 04-26-2009 10:07 AM

We may find out that other teams don't love Vaughn and Brown as much as we do. I'm noticing Sidbury is still available and also Marcus Freeman. Shawn Nelson is still there along with Duke Robinson and Jamon Meredith. There's a lot of "value" still there while players with "6th round grades" are being drafted left and right.

Just like Jim Mora Sr. said, "you think you know....but you just don't know."

I'm hoping we can still get Vaughn and Brown.

Well, that and we continually seem to overrate the needs at safety versus how the Texans seem to rate those needs. Outside of re-signing Eugene Wilson this offseason, a lot of their moves at both safety positions have left me looking like --->

jppaul 04-26-2009 10:11 AM

Lot of quality tight ends still available, might be the best value there, but I would like to see them take a RB or S. Give me Rashad Johnson, I wanted McBath but too bad.

Roy P 04-26-2009 10:11 AM

The Bucs select one of my guys. Roy Miller climbed up to the 3rd round. I was drafting him in the 6th round a couple of weeks ago and moved him up to the 4th round, just to be "sure" I'd be able to get him.

Roy P 04-26-2009 10:16 AM

Derrick Williams over Iglesias? Hmm, do they know he ran a 4.67?

Roy P 04-26-2009 10:20 AM

Jared Cook and Lawrence Sidbury must have been poor in interviews. With the way things are going, could I get Asher Allen in the 5th round? :)

Roy P 04-26-2009 10:20 AM

Steelers take Mike Wallace instead of Mike Thomas.....I guess being short is hurting him.

He did look good at the Senior Bowl, if I remember correctly.

Reported that he had the flu when he ran that, and was quicker at his pro day. Didn't Jerry Rice run a 4.6?

TexanJedi 04-26-2009 10:28 AM

There goes Allen to Minny.

Roy P 04-26-2009 10:29 AM

Aww crap. Asher Allen is off the board :(

I guess the good news is that he's not a Titan.

good with brown too, but doubt he's there

vaughn would fit the db need

Roy P 04-26-2009 10:34 AM

I'm thinking about trading next year's 2nd for another 3rd round pick for Andre Brown right about now.

Roy P 04-26-2009 10:36 AM

Then again, Jennings is still on the board, so maybe I'm trading up for Chip Vaughn - you know, the guy I gave a 2nd round pick grade.

Wouldn't it be better to package our 4th's?

I would love that trade if it went down. Ive been loving on Caldwell all year and was hoping we would draft him, so I am tickled pink. I was just hoping they could draft him in the 4th instead of the 3rd, but such is life. If they could trade back in to the 3rd and grab Vaughn or Brown, that would be awesome.

Nconroe 04-26-2009 10:37 AM

not me, no next year seconds going away, just be patient, or trade this years picks if really sold on someone.

TexanJedi 04-26-2009 10:39 AM

Tennessee just got a good TE in Cook. Good value.

Roy P 04-26-2009 10:39 AM

The Titans just drafted to the "BPA" in Jared Cook. Hopefully he's dumb, can't catch, and won't block.

American Idle 04-26-2009 10:39 AM

Nice pickup in Cook for the Titans. Wasn't he projected in the mid 2nd?

TexanJedi 04-26-2009 10:44 AM

Titans traded their #2 next year for Cook this year.

Okay, I just needed to be talked down. This Caldwell pick flustered me. Now I have to get Vaughn and a RB (Brown, Jennings, or Ringer, Peerman).

Roy P 04-26-2009 10:50 AM

I thought the Colts would draft D.J. Moore to play CB.

I like Cook, but I'm glad the Titans are throwing away future picks. NE's stockpiling picks for next year.

And no, please don't give up our 2010 #2 for a #3 this year!!! I may have been OK with that had we traded with Detroit and picked Green or something. I'd rather give up both #4's or a combination of #4 and #5 or something like that if we want to move back into the 3rd.
