Slaton over 1,000 yds for the year! Yay! ;)
|
Texans move it out to about their 34 but have to punt.
------------- Fake (or braincramp?)! Turk runs for 18. 1st down Texans in Green Bay territory. |
You can't stop the Turk, you can only hope to contain him!

Oy, Slaton fumbles at the 20.
Packers ball. |
Rodgers hits Jennings on a deep pass. Packers ball at the Texan 5.
Step it up, defense. ----------- Grant runs it in. Packers 14, Texans 13 |
Texans take the lead 19-14, but have to burn a timeout because they couldn't figure out whether to go for 2 or not. I know it's nitpicky after they just march down the field and score, but Kubiak has to do a better job of knowing the situation and being ready to act. Having to burn a timeout in a close game to decide whether you want to go for 2 is inexcusable.

Start of 4th quarter.
Packers kick off. AD returns it to the Texan 37. ------------- Texans matriculate the ball down the field and then Schaub hits AJ for the 11 yard TD! Texans mulling over going for 2 pts.... ------------ 2 pt conversion to AJ is good! Texans 21, Packers 14 ------- Packers to challenge the 2 pt conversion. (looked good to me) -------- 2 pt conversion holds up. Pack is charged a timeout. |
Brown kicks off. Packers misplay it and only get to their 11 yard line.
About 9:37 left in the game... ----------- Packers have to punt. |
Jeezuz!!! F'ing ANOTHER turnover!!! G'damit!
|
Oh my god.
JJ fumbles the punt. Packers ball at about the 50. |
Packers moving the ball easily on the ground (Grant)....
Packers have 1st and goal at the 10. --------- Rodgers hits Nelson on a 10 yd pass. TD Packers. Texans 21, Packers 21 |
This team and the turnovers are f'ing ridiculous. I don't think I have ever seen a team that's more sloppy with the ball the '08 Texans. We should be dominating this game and instead are just giving it away.

Packers kick off. Texans ball at their 35.
5:53 left in the game.... |
Texans go 3 and out. Turk on to punt.
Green Bay takes over at their 15 yard line. 5:19 left in the game. -------- Big pass to Driver puts the ball at the Texan 25. --------- Big sack by DeMeco! |
This play-by-play announcer is really getting on my nerves. EVERYTHING IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! LET'S ALL SHOUT!!! They're two 5-7 teams going against each other, dude. Tone it down!
|
Packers face 4th and 23 at the Texan 38. They elect to punt.
Punt is downed at the 2. Texans ball with 1:49 left. |

Leach gets it out to the 28 on a short pass.
Nick Collins down. 1:34 left in the game. |

Texans get into FG range on big pass to OD!
-------- 4 seconds left, K Brown on for the FG..... -------- Yeah baby! FG is good! Final Score: Texans 24, Packers 21 |
Yes! What a game.
|
Texans win on kick by Brown. Once again, Kubiak turns away and refuses to watch the kick. I can't exactly say why, but that really bothers me.

The Texans are getting to be the heart attack kids. Who would have thought we could have 4 turnovers against GB in 5 degree weather, and still pull out the win. We are ever so slowly turning the corner from also ran to a pretty decent team. Not playoff caliber mind ya, that will come after next years draft, IMO.
Yahoo, Slaton the rookie RB, got his 1000 yds rushing today. We sure got a good one when we got him. |

Glad to see Schauby back in form this quickly. 8-8, and even 9-7 is definitely a possibility...... |

To take the poker analogy a bit further, Kubiak went all in and bet everything on one turn of the cards. It was out of his control at that point, but he drew his cards and won. If he couldn't look, no biggie. |
wow, gives you hope we are on the right track. very good win.
|
Poker, especially Texas Hold 'em, is really boring guys. The name of the game is BlackJack !
But congrats to the Texans, I'm truly proud of them today ! I never thought they'd go up there to Green Bay after the short week and all with the big emotional win on their first ever MNF game and beat the Packers. Especially when they needed to over come what, 4 turnovers vs the 1 for GB ? |
The offense was very good today. Turnovers kept it from being excellent, but give the Packers credit for making plays on OD and Steve. We left alot..alot of points out on the field.
One thing I can say, I know there are Kubiak detractors, but these guys have not quit on him. They might not play the smartest, cleanest football, but they have nutted up and played ball even after the poor start. I think he deserves credit for having the team prepared and not quitting (see jacksonville, Cleveland, Oakland etc). I don't know who kidnapped Richard Smith, but the defense is playing totally different since Dunta came back. |

The team is getting off the field on third downs, too. I think Dunta's return has something to do with that. Mario becoming a little more terrifying has something to do with that as well. and btw, Gus Johnson is Gus Johnson, but I thought Steve Tasker did a fine job next to him today. It's pretty easy to knock these guys as a group, but Tasker is getting better at this job. |
Tasker had it exactly right. Turnovers are killing the Texans and penalties are killing the Packers. Take away the TOs and we win by 20. Take away the penalties and they win by 20.
The Texans handle the cold better than you think. I remember when they beat the Bears in 12-degree weather. I think it's because they are all Virginians. Good win and I think 8-8 is becoming more doable. Perhaps the Titans will lay down a little now that they've clinched the division. If I were Fisher, I'd sit Collins this week and start Vince. It would help Collins heal up and help Vince get back some confidence in a low-risk situation. |
I hate Steve Tasker! Sorriest color guy in anybody's booth. Always rags on the Texans. After GB scored to tie the game he practicaly assured the T.V. audience that GB would win. He don't know squat!!!!

Surprisingly, the Texans are still mathematically in the playoff hunt. They probably need to win all their games and everyone in front of them to lose them all, but they're still in it.
