Fuller is ligit 4.32 speed. 30 TD at ND. Not bad.

chuck 04-28-2016 09:35 PM

The Texans obviously liked this guy a lot more than any other receiver that was out there. I like that they went and got the guy they wanted rather than settling for whoever was left.

They still need someone to return kicks.

HPF Bob 04-28-2016 09:35 PM

We moved up and lost a sixth rounder in2017.

Warren 04-28-2016 09:38 PM

Fwiw O'Brien recruited Fuller while at Penn St. but didn't get him.

Arky 04-28-2016 09:39 PM

I like it. Speed, baby.

Get him working with D-Hop to straighten him out re: drops...............

Blitzwood 04-28-2016 09:39 PM

I saw several Notre Dame games, and this kids talent jumps off the screen.

The Skins take Doctson at #22. I wonder if they would have taken him @ #21 without the trade. Then, I would have taken Michael Thomas or traded down. Surprised that Laquon Treadwell is still available too. Very interesting.

Roy P 04-28-2016 09:58 PM

25 picks in and I am still looking at Michael Thomas, Jarran Reed, Bronson Kaufusi, Sterling Shepard, Kevin Dodd, Carl Nassib, Jason Spriggs, Vernon Butler, Kenny Clark, A'Shawn Robinson, and Paxton Lynch. The Broncos just traded up for....

Roy P 04-28-2016 10:03 PM

The Broncos gave up #94 and #31 to trade up to #26. I would have traded down from #22 for that. The Broncos select...Paxton Lynch.

The Packers are up next, and Ted Thompson always seems to draft My Guys. Guessing he takes Jarran Reed or one of my other 1st round graded players.

Roy P 04-28-2016 10:13 PM

Kenny Clark over Jarran Reed. Very interesting.

Roy P 04-28-2016 10:19 PM

DAMN!!!! I was so hopeful that Garnett might last until the 3rd round. I would have been pleased if the Texans or Colts would have selected him in the 2nd round. He was just too good to slide down where I was constantly picking him in Mock Drafts. :(

HPF Bob 04-28-2016 10:20 PM

Happy about the Broncos getting their QBOTF and lost just a 3rd rounder.

See Rick Smith? That's the RIGHT way to work a trade up.

Roy P 04-28-2016 10:38 PM

Carolina takes Vernon Butler. Seattle has the last pick in the first round. The guys I'm looking at with 1st round talent:
WR Michael Thomas Ohio St
NT Jarran Reed Alabama
DE Bronson Kaufusi BYU
WR Sterling Shepard Oklahoma
DE Kevin Dodd Clemson
DE Carl Nassib Penn St
OT Jason Spriggs Indiana
NT A'Shawn Robinson Alabama

Players I gave a 2nd round grade:
RB Kenneth Dixon La Tech
RB Derrick Henry Alabama
TE Hunter Henry Arkansas
TE Austin Hooper Stanford
TE Nick Vannett Ohio St
LBO Shilique Calhoun Michigan St
NT Maliek Collins Nebraska
NT Javon Hargrave S.Carolina St.
NT Hassan Ridgeway Texas
S Sean Davis Maryland
QB Connor Cook Michigan St
DE Chris Jones Miss State
WR Braxton Miller Ohio St
S Von Bell Ohio St
LBI Kamalei Correa Boise St

Nconroe 04-28-2016 11:03 PM

Probably I'd prefer TE Henry or Hooper in second, or several positions, Oline, Dline, ...

A home run threat on every snap. A nice complement with Hopkins and Strong. Big investment to the offense which needed speed in the offseason and now have it with the additions of Fuller and Lamar Miller.

You want to know another receiver with questions about his hands out of college?

Quote:

"I wouldn't label him a 'body catcher,' because he does grab the ball out in front of him, but he doesn't look really that natural (as a receiver)," said one personnel director. "He doesn't have those real, soft hands, you know?"
That's from an ESPN article in 2003 about Andre Johnson.

Keith 04-29-2016 01:28 PM

PFT reporting the Texans were targeting S Karl Joseph from West Virginia. I think Florio, who posted this article, went to WVU so maybe he knows someone there?

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-joseph-badly/

Quote:

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Texans badly wanted former West Virginia safety Karl Joseph.

The Texans never got a chance to get him, because the Raiders surprisingly made Joseph the 14th overall selection — despite a torn ACL he suffered last year at practice.

Roy P 04-29-2016 01:43 PM

This makes me wonder how they feel about Sean Davis and Vonn Bell. Maybe we could get Miles Killebrew. Heck TJ Green and KJ Dillon are possible too.

HPF Bob 04-29-2016 03:50 PM

Were it mine to do, I would have offered the Broncos the same move down and have two third-rounders. With my three top guys all off the board at #22, I would have moved down to #31 and added #94, selected Ifedi or a d-lineman and come back in the second to take Martin, Shepard, Chris Jones or Nassib depending on how the chips fell.

Fuller might have still been there at #31 anyway. Rob Rang had him listed as the 35th best prospect in the draft.

Until proven otherwise, I see Fuller as a guy whose upside is Alvin Harper and his downside is Darius Heywood-Bey. Not worth the 21st or 22nd pick but in the discussion at the beginning of Round 2.

Roy P 04-29-2016 04:44 PM

I fully agree with you, Bob.

jcp 04-29-2016 11:27 PM

Only time will tell...

Can't say I was jumping for joy at the pick but we've been slow and shallow at the WR position since inception. I can see Hopkins, Fuller and Miller with Strong essentially playing the move TE position all being on the field at once. Adds a lot more dimension to our offense to be sure. Our D will be fine...be nice to have a ball hawking safety and another dynamic DL but you can't get everything...maybe something will fall in our laps on day 3 that surprises everyone down the road.

Nconroe 05-01-2016 07:02 PM

Seems reviews of Will Fuller all over, Lance Zerlein included in this summarization.

http://www.rotoworld.com/recent/cfb/134259/will-fuller

I heard an interview on 610 with his coach. Coach said not bad hands, but occasionally starts thinking of run before ball caught. Says he is tough and gained weight this past year.

So, being positive and hope to see best on the field. His production was pretty good in TDs.
