Detroit for me please.
|
The BUNGALS screwed me over last year during week two... but the Ravens look crappy enough that I'm willing to give them a chance to redeem themselves. The Raven's O-line sucks, their starting QB is a water boy, their top corner is injured, and TO-lite, Hushwhatshisname, and Palmer all look ready to go. History is also on my side... the Bengals have won the last 6 of 7 against the Ravens, including a clean sweep last year.
What could go wrong? |

And just that fast, I'm done. Atlanta goes 1 and 15 but this is the game they had to go and win! |
I'm done too. Who would have thought Atlanta would win over Detroit.
|
Bastard Bengals . . .What an odd opening weekend
|
As 'Cosmo Kramer' would say..... I'm OUT!
Stupid Lions. When will I ever learn how to play these stupid pools. |
Rookie QBs tend to be ready for week 1, it's week 2 that gives them problems, especially if it's on the road.
We had 37 entries (so far at least, there are still two more Week 1 games tonight if someone new wants to enter still). Of the 37, 15 are already out for having picked either the Bengals (3), Lions (5), Chargers (5), Texans (1), or Colts (1). Two entries still have picks yet to play. |

hahahaha haha hahahahahaaaaaaahahahaaa c'mon that's funny. chargers, colts, bengals, lions probably all would've been picked by me if i was picking by game....but since the 49ers had a game i couldn't pass it up! :D so if everyone is out by week 4 is the contest over? |
Since it seems well established that I can make teams lose just by choosing them in Week 1 of the suicide contest, I really need to use it to my advantage next year. I should pick the opponent for the Texans. That way, if I still lose in the first week at least I won't mind it so much.

Im gonna take Houston this week. Home opener lots of emotion and lots to prove. Given our record last year at home, this looks hard to lose even after last Sunday.

Week 1: NO Saints
Week 2: TB Bucs |
Week 1: New England
Week 2: Arizona |
week 1: arizona cardinals
week 2: kansas city cheifs |
Week 1: Philadelphia Eagles
Week 2: Arizona Cardinals over Miami. I wanted to pick a few other games more than this, but injury situations were making things sketchy. This is as good a time as any to squeeze out a Cards pick; against Miami and if they lose then its not like I made it to week 10 and was staking my survival on the Cards. |
Week 1: Philly
Week 2: The Giants of New York |
Week 1: New England
Week 2: Arizona |
Week 1: Cardinals
Week 2: Giants |
Week 1: Denver
Week 2: Kansas City |
1. New England Patriots
2. Seattle Seahawks |
Week 1: New York Jets
Week 2: New York Giants |
Week 1: Philadelphia Eagles
Week 2: New York Giants |
There go three or four for betting on the Chiefs...the Chiefs are always a safe bet to suck, even against the Raiders.

We're missing picks from jcp, painekiller, cland, and Roy P.
papabear and kravix both picked the Texans. Fifteen other entries made it in time. Not sure what to do about the others honestly given the situation with Hurricane Ike. This will be a pain, but I think we should let the others stay in and just play a week behind (i.e. if one of them lasts long enough, they would have to last one week longer than someone making a correct pick in Week 2). Should there be someone to pick all 17 weeks correctly and one of the posters above pick correctly the rest of the way (16 weeks), then the winner would be the one picking 17 correct. Thoughts? I don't want to penalize those missing a pick this week due to the circumstances, but I don't want them to float a week when 17 out of 21 of us found a way to pick before the storm moved through, too. btw, for anyone able to read this before Monday night's kickoff, please make a Week 2 pick. TIA. |
That sounds fair
|
Sounds good to me. Hope everyone in Houston is doing well..
|
Sounds fair to me as well.
|
Who cares? This is a stupid game.
|
That souds fair to me Keith.
We could also just drop this week and the picks everyone made. That might be more fair to those that got booted this week that actually made picks over the ones that couldnt or like me made a pick for a game that didnt happen. |

Rams like the the Eagles did. If I'd been able to get to a computer before today (Tuesday), they would have been my choice. So, I won't use them for next week. 1 - Pitt 2 - NYG And while I'm here with the internet, go ahead and put me down for week 3. 3 - Buf Bills over the Raiders. |
Players still alive into Week 3 with previous picks:
