Another one for the scrap head?
@AdamSchefter: Filed to ESPN: Vikings plan to release Donovan McNabb today, according to a league source. |
although McNabb hasn't done too good this year or last, wonder if Texans should give him a tryout?

@RickSmith1956: Sage Rosenfels is healthy and removed from NFI list today by the Dolphins. He has to clear waivers.

Interesting review on Yates from Prisco @ CBS:
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/1...y-gets-tougher "Here's what I saw: A poised rookie who did scan the field when he made throws and made good reads on several of his passing plays. He also has an arm that is good enough, even if he didn't really make any deep throws against the Jaguars." |
Sage claimed by Vikings.
McNabb went unclaimed, and is now a FA. |

Apparently, Kubiak is reading this site and took our good advice. Happy to see Yates throwing the ball deep yesterday. Wish Andre had made that first catch. Anyway, I am content with Yates as the QB. |
lol, yep, right down to the pregame speech. Kubes used the early betting line (where the Texans were 3-point dogs) to motivate his team throughout the week.
|
Brett Hartman is done. Torn ACL according to Kubiak.
They are bringing in multiple guys tomorrow. IMO Turk is the early favorite, like it or not. I am a not liking that. |

Good news on Dre - Mild sprain - Day to day. Don't think we'll see him this week, but definitely good news. |
Hope Bret Harman makes a good recovery.
found this list of punter FA available http://thesidelineview.com/columns/n...ilable-offense Punter Josh Bidwell Matt Turk Matt Dodge Glenn Pakulak Robert Malone Ricky Schmitt (K) Ken Parrish Daniel Power |
Wow. Turk does sound like the best option of that group. Plus the Texans can use his AARP card for discounts in hotels and restaurants.
|
This must've been on the pregame bit, but pretty much answers my original question of who's next up. ;)

Just based on the stat line Dodge looks the best option, but I know squat about him.

And then trolling around on other boards I found this and I couldn't believe it. I watched this video ten times in a row, happier and happier each time. I have no idea why I didn't post it here then, my apologies. Thanks for sharing, WMH. Again, I ask, why the hell not? |

Thought this was interesting.... @MarkBermanFox26: Texans have released QB Kellen Clemens and placed punter Brett Hartmann on IR. SR610: SportsRadio 610 and chron.com's John McClain reports the Texans have waived Kellen Clemens and have plans to sign Jeff Garcia as their new third QB. @McClain_on_NFL: Texans are bringing back punter Matt Turk, 43. He punted for them from 2007-2010. Rookie Brett Hartmann was placed on IR today. |
I suppse we should welcome those two young men, Mr Turk and Mr. Garcia as two newestTexans in 2011.
Surely they both will contribute well when called on as well as help the team with all their experience. Turk probably made sense since punter holds for kicker and he did that well last year. |

Unbelievable.
Mr. Caldwell, your UP. SR610 has learned that Texans OL Mike Brisiel broke a bone in his leg and was operated on this morning. They hope he'll return sometime during the playoffs. |
unbelievable. please tell me this is a joke.
|
|
Well, at least that'll save the team ten to fifteen yards a game in false start penalties.
|
I'm shocked Brisel ever became a starter. I remember when he was just backup material. Wasn't he the one that fainted one time during a preseason game or do I have him mixed up with some other wannabe?
But I will give him props that Foster and Tate often ran behind him and Winston and our QBs haven't been sacked very often so clearly he's had a good season. |

With the release of WR Derrick Mason, it is likely that rookie Jeff Maehl will be given his chance. |
You just can't make this shit up......
@MarkBermanFox26: Texans defensive coordionator Wade Phillips will take a medical leave of absence for a couple of weeks. |
not only that , Wade might want to be a head coach again, lots of openings coming this off-season.
http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans...-coaching-job/ he could take a few of our coaches with him if he goes. sure hope his minor surgery goes well and he decides to stay here. please stay Wade And for sure wish the best for Wade. |
IF he will stay we will eventually get to the SB. If he goes to S.D. as is rumored, he will get his usual playoff run, but he will lose out before he gets to the SB. He is a damn good DC coach, but he's not that cool when it comes to the offense.
Offer him a big raise and assistant HC or something. We really need you Wade! |

If they manage to get a playoff win (they'll be at home), I think both deserve a raise.
