Is Blue hurt? Little surprised to see Hilliard first RB off the bench.

chuck 08-14-2016 07:10 PM

Nah, the OL is a MASH unit so it's ridiculous to complain too much but I probably won't let that stop me.

BO looked like a guy playing his first game and so far Savage looks like a guy who knows the offense. Obviously BO is the QB but it's nice to have a guy steeped in the offense who seems ready to step in rather than having to dig up the Thad Lewises of the world every year.

popanot 08-14-2016 07:13 PM

Texans are notorious for suckitude in preseason under OB. I just don't like how they're getting beat physically. At least the 1rst teamers.

Big Texas 08-14-2016 07:21 PM

I don't mind being vanilla in preseason...but missing tackles is unacceptable...

Big Texas 08-14-2016 07:28 PM

The defensive side is making it really easy to figure out who needs to be cut...

Arky 08-14-2016 07:36 PM

@ halftime:

Score: 49'ers 13, Texans 7

Total yards: Texans 89, 49'ers 302

1st downs: Texans 6, 49'ers 18

Total plays: Texans 25, 49'ers 50

Without the two 49'er turnovers, this one could be really bad. Niner fumble at the goal line looked like a fubarred hand off...

Big Texas 08-14-2016 07:49 PM

Eric Lee and Tony Washington are not ready...

Whomever is on that DLine looks terrible...

chuck 08-14-2016 07:52 PM

The Texans have the worst return game in the history of football. These clowns make Jacoby Jones look like Mel Gray.

And another thing, what is the story with the Texans never being able to find a guy who can kick the mfng ball into the end zone? At first I thought it must be the wind. Nope. Dude damn near as old as I am in the other jersey booms it into the back of the end zone from either side. I don't get it.

Nconroe 08-14-2016 08:38 PM

Savage looking better with two TD drives. Starting to succeed with passes. Mostly 3rd stringers now , but doing ok.

Well, OK. The 2nd half was a little more encouraging. (yeah, yeah, preseason/backups/yada yada)....

Big Texas 08-14-2016 09:49 PM

Not much to be excited about except the fact that Savage looks very comfortable...

Wish we could've seen more swing passes and screens to Hunt and Ervin...

Receivers struggled against press coverage...

DLine didn't look good...

Didn't realize we were so thin at OLB...

Jeff Allen, Kendall Lamm, and the Center struggled...

Seemed like Chip opened up his play book a little more than we did...

Charles James did not look well...

Believe that is going to be the new strategy. Touchbacks start at the 25 yard line now. If the kickers kick high, and just into the zone, returners will likely bring it out and odds are greater you'll get them inside the 20.

Novak might be the ideal kicker for that. Pretty sure that kid can get it to the back of the end zone.

We have a Care Bear as a placekicker?

It's really nice to see Tom Savage back. August is his time of year.

The Texans are actually very good in games that don't matter. We didn't look great today yet still won by 11 points.

Miller looks like a better player than Fuller.

A win's a win and if we suffered no major injuries, what more can you ask?

Nconroe 08-15-2016 12:51 PM

If someone wants to rewatch, looks like NFL network will reshow game at 3 PM on Tuesday afternoon.

I saw Fuller be open several times but Os didn't throw to him. Plenty time yet to see more.

Early and a lot of starters out on both sides of the ball.

On to practice with Saints this week.
