Would "assume" it happened during a workout period.

Yes that is a huge blow to the depth at OT.

But remember, although not ideal, Wade Smith has played OT in the NFL, and in a game time pinch might be an option at OT.

Slaton finally got whacked. Obi-whatever promoted from PS.

espn_afcsouth #Texans release Steve Slaton, sign Chris Ogbonnaya from practice squad.

Either a positive sign for Foster, or a dreadful sign for Slaton.

I'm hoping for the former, but could be the latter.

Saw on the tweeter that we signed RB James Davis to the PS:

@HoustonTexans: The Texans signed RB James Davis to the practice squad.

Not sure who that is...... former CLE guy?

Too bad after such a great rookie year that things didn't work out here for Slaton. Hopefully he finds a good fit with another team in future.

Found this on Davis http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...2IJJ_blog.html
"..Davis appeared as a reserve in three games last season for the Redskins, compiling 51 rushing yards on 15 carries and 45 receiving yards on four catches. The Clemson product joined Washington mid-season last year after Cleveland released him. He began on the practice squad but was activated to the 53-man roster as injuries piled up.

Davis was originally selected in the sixth round of the 2009 draft by the Browns but appeared in only six games in 1 1/2 seasons there."

Saw on twitter - We released David Anderson, and brought back Trindon Holiday.....

Kind of a head scratcher there......

WMH 10-12-2011 01:17 PM

@NickScurfield: The Texans released RB C Ogbonnaya & WR D Anderson. They signed LB Thaddeus Gipson & WR Juaquin Iglesias to the practice squad.

Obi for Mason; DA for Holiday.
Haven't seen anything on the PS releases.

Arky 10-12-2011 01:25 PM

Man, they must really be upset with JJ if they are bringing back Holliday.....

Nconroe 10-12-2011 01:58 PM

I guess after last Sunday loss something had to give, good luck to David Anderson and Chris Ogbonnaya in future, perhaps they will be back again as well or someone else may pick them up as many of our cuts this year have been picked up by others.

wow, talk about some changes, some explanations of the logic here

The Texans have traded the New York Jets a conditional 2012 draft pick for veteran wide receiver Derrick Mason. They also have signed wide reciever Trindon Holliday and outside linebacker Jesse Nading to the active roster.

Holliday will return punts and kickoffs, allowing receiver Jacoby Jones and safety Danieal Manning to focus on their primary positions. Nading takes the roster spot of Mario Williams, who was placed on injured reserve with a torn pectoral muscle.

The Texans released running back Chris Ogbonnaya and wide receiver David Anderson. They signed linebacker Thaddeus Gibson and wide receiver Juaquin Iglesias to their practice squad.

Arky 10-20-2011 01:37 PM

Read in the morning Chronicle that Chris Ogbonnaya has been signed off the Texans practice squad and added to Cleveland's 53-man roster....

NBT 10-20-2011 01:41 PM

Trindon Holliday was inactive against the Ravens. So why did they bring him back?
