Good, thanks.

Joel Myers says the fog is rolling in. Cameras look darker but visibility still good right now.

Nice return by Nolan. Let's get him returning kickoffs.

The only difference is Nolan actually had some blocking.

Arky 08-27-2011 08:16 PM

Niners return Rackers kickoff back to their 23. Texans D Barber injured on the play.

Dixon for about 6. 2nd and 5 coming up.

Rush for about 1. 3rd and 4 coming up.

Pass is off the hands of the receiver. Niners have to punt.

Nice return by JJ but fumble at the end goes out of bounds. Texans ball at midfield.

chuck 08-27-2011 08:18 PM

Like I said, Jacoby is not a professional football player. A thirty yard return makes no difference if you don't hold onto the football.

Arky 08-27-2011 08:19 PM

Pass to KW gets 15.

Ward gets about 5 but fumbles. Niners recover. Niners ball at their 31.

The ground caused the fumble but no excuse not to hold on. You can't presume refs will get the call right, even with replay.

Arky 08-27-2011 08:21 PM

Kaepernick's pass is batted down by Watt, inc.

Hunter rushes for about 8 or 9. 3rd and 1 coming up.

Hunter gets stopped for -1. 4th and 2 coming up.

2 minute warning.

HPF Bob 08-27-2011 08:25 PM

The Texans have got to love the weather in Frisco. from 100+ degrees to in the 60s.

That's two penalties on Casey now.

Arky 08-27-2011 08:30 PM

Niners will punt on 4th down.

JJ brings the punt back for short 5 yards gain but illegal block in back on Casey backs it up. Ball is at the Texan 15.

Pass to OD good for 7.

Schaub scrambles for 2. Makes it 3rd and 1 with 1:14 left in the half.

Pass to OD gets about 8 or 9, 1st down.

Pass to OD good for 5 or 6.

Pass to AJ gets the 1st down at the Texan 46. Timeout Texans with 45 seconds left.

Pass to JJ inc at the sideline.

Pass to OD complete and the ball gets poked out of his hands. Niners recover at the the Texan 48.

HPF Bob 08-27-2011 08:30 PM

Arky 08-27-2011 08:32 PM

1st down pass by Smith sails inc. 24 seconds left.

Pass is INT'ed by Barber! Texans ball at their 38. 13 seonds left.

Pass to KW sails inc. 6 seconds left.

Tate runs for 11.

Halftime.

chuck 08-27-2011 08:36 PM

It looks like (and it may be a reality) that the Texans are finally good enough to where their mistakes don't immediately doom them against mediocre competition. You can't turn the ball over three times in a half against a real AFC team and expect not to get blown out, but against the 50% of the schedule (or more) that's not elite, maybe they can.

I'd sure like to cut down on the idiotic TOs, though.

Arky 08-27-2011 08:40 PM

The turnovers are ugly, but good god, this looks like the varsity scrimmaging the JV. San Francisco is that bad. Is it possible that a guy as competitive as Harbaugh wants to go 0-16 so he can draft Andrew Luck. Because I honestly cannot imagine an NFL team being less talented.

And our defense looks really good even if it is against the Washington Generals.

HPF Bob 08-27-2011 08:44 PM

Just up the road from Candlestick, the Giants have a 1-0 lead on the Astros. The Giants are starting a pitcher they just called up from AAA but he ought to feel comfortable facing a AAA batting lineup.
