Nice, easy read on Okoye, shedding a little light on him and the team. I'm going to be very interested in seeing how much he has progressed after his first NFL offseason.

Four days after his birthday, Okoye celebrated at his party at the Westin hotel in Houston with a glass of red wine. A big glass, but not much more. Forget the blurs and bumbles of bar hopping, the endless shots, the Amy Winehouse hangover. Okoye, who last year was the youngest NFL player in 30 years, was sober and happy and wasn't photographed doing anything stupid. Bloggers might be bummed, but kids who look up to him aren't. And Okoye wanted not only to enjoy his birthday but to actually remember it, too.

I chatted with him at Texans All Access. He was very cordial and engaging. I stood off to the side and we chatted about hit trip to Nigeria. Hopefully he will take that next step forward and be a more consistent player this year.
Kubes mentioned during the OTA's that he has matured. A year in the weight program should have made him stronger. With Mario, Rosie and if they slide ND inside during passing downs should hopefully free him up for 1:1's inside and he showed flashes of being able to rush the passer last year.

Man, I hope our front four spends the year earholing Payton, Vince and Garrard.

My heartiest congratulations to Amobi on his 21st birthday. You can now be the man off the field, that you have already shown yourself to be, on the field.
