Way too soon to be looking at FA for the upcoming offseason because of the shaky and uncertain position of Kubiaks future here beyond the 2009 season ?
If the Texans crater in the next few weeks McNair might bring in a new HC coach who runs a 3-4 instead of the 4-3, drops zone blocking, etc. who knows ?

While I agree that it is a little early for this, I can't help but ask why Pollard is not on your list? IMO, that guy has been a HUGE plus for our defensive transformation.

I think keeping him around, in a 3 year deal range is something that Smithiak, or insert another couple of names, should be looking at for next year.

Pollard was not on the list I was using to get these names. But I thnk you are correct he is a one year guy, so he should be on this list.
