OK Molden was taken off PUP today. That is one body I had hoped would push for playing time back on the field.

How do you see this shaking out? The young guys held their own, granted it was the Chiefs.

We have also added a veteran Deltha O'Neal. If he has anything left in the tank, he can help us out.

I would love for the opening day starters to be Dunta, Molden, Bennett. With Quin, McCain and O'Neal backing them up. Reeves should be back by week 4.

As for safeties, Barber and Wilson started the other night. Ferguson looked solid in the part of camp I saw, so he is not far behind. IMO Busing is going to be hard to keep off the field, he has a magnet for the ball.

Nolan might go to the IR, but he might not need to. And Harrison has not appeared to get it. Always hesitating and arm tackling instead of ....

Quin can be the DB version of Casey if he learns to play the safety position along with the CB and nickle.

What am I missing, other than practice reps, this secondary looks good on paper.

We're still missing Dunta, otherwise sounds about like what I was thunkin.

I'm excited to see Molden. I am expecting him to compete for starting CB, or at least #3. I'm very confident that he will be good. His size, football instincts, and superior speed and athleticism make for a darn good package. If Dunta returns, I think we're going to have 6 CBs on the 53 man roster:

Dunta
Reeves
Bennett
Molden
McCain
Quin

and Quin will essentially allow the team to enter the season with only 3 safeties: Ferguson, Wilson, Barber... they can put Nolan on the P.S. until he's healthy and needed. Quin showed himself to be plenty physical to play in the middle of the field on passing downs, IMO.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think our CB depth is going to be a strength of this team by midseason. And, I'm not that concerned about Dunta's contract status in 2010.

I can agree with almost the entire thing except, 4 safeties, IMO, not 3. Busing is my add.

If Robinson continues his tirade into the season as threatened, and Reeves has to rehab that ankle, it looks like Bennet, Molden, Quin, and McCain are going to have to shoulder the load for a couple of games. We better hope Frank Bush has the Dline and the LBs coming on like gangbusters for those two games.

The Jets are mainly a running team, and the Titans are primarily a running team. So the front seven is where we need to be solid the first few games.
