Due to the rehab of TJ from the hernia and the first report of this I remember seeing, Knee Scope of Okoye in June, the Texans have signed 39 year old Jeff Zgonina.
Jeff Zgonina is a role model for the young guys, he is always the first guy on the practice field and he gives it his all. That said he should only be camp fodder.

Isnt that what we said last year?
The talent is better this year than last year though, so unless TJ hits the IR he should just be fodder.
The man is a freak though. 39 years old and he is still playing.
I like this move because the DL was getting very very young with no vets around, and this should help alot. Too bad we cant sign ND Kalu as camp foder also.

While I like what Zgonina brings to the lockerroom...I was a little dissapointed though. He's not the same player he was even a couple of years ago and I would rather see some young guy get a shot. I understand that Zgonina will be able to jump right in...but there's no long term benefit here.
Oh, and I doubt Zgonina would agree to go his 57th training camp in a row in the Houston heat if he didn't think he had a shot at sticking.

For that I would do it until I looked like the black knight. "It's only a flesh wound coach let Mario hit me again!"
