KC Joyner on Duane Brown, Turnovers, and More

Insightful stats from Joyner... his are enjoyable reads not so much for Joyner's interpretation of the stats which imo is not always spot on, but then again, some of it is and most of it is usually thought-provoking.

In this article he examines the effectiveness of Duane Brown and Sage Rosenfels and some POA percentages (point of attack win rates) that should be encouraging for the defense this season.

I don’t want to keep bashing the guy, but on a somewhat related note, Brown also notched a terribly low 73.9% POA win rate on running plays. That means he was beaten at the point of attack on run blocks one out of four times, so he also needs to make dramatic improvement in this area. ...

Brown a rookie should only get better.

Adibi was slippery and should fit the new style of play.

If Schaub is not illegally hit, our season might have been different?

No the rule should be if the illegal hit cause the other player to leave the game then the perpetrator should be out also.

POA seems like a good stat that takes a lot of work to get and interpret. Does it correlate to wins or first downs or yards per attempt? Do you have to buy the book to see these?
