Geoff Kaplan, assistant athletic trainer for the Tennessee Titans for the last 14 years, has been hired by the Texans to replace Kevin Bastin.
Kaplan, 38, interned with the Oilers in 1994 and was hired full time in 1995, which was Jeff Fisher's first full season as head coach. ...

I don't get the deal with the nepotism and Denver hang up from our fans. Do you guys really think that every NFL coach and GM does not hire from within their own circle of personal friends? They all fall into one of a few coaching trees and hire their own.

Just Like Casserly hired all ex Redskins to work in the background for us, and Capers hired guys he had worked with before. That is how it is done by most people.

I don't either. Kubiak was in Denver as a player and then coach for a very long time. The way most coaches move around he got a chance to work with a lot of different guys in Denver who also worked in a lot of different places. Damn near every hire for assistant in the NFL has some connection to the coaches already on staff or with someone in the front office.
In the very small pool of NFL coaches it's hard to find someone you don't have a connection to.
