A&M's RB Mike Goodson is announcing he is going pro and skipping his senior season. I've always thought he was a playmaker similar to Jamal Charles but, with Lane in the offense, I don't think he got as much work as an inside runner.
I also did not notice his pass blocking ability.

No question he has speed and good hands. What round do you think he'll be picked in and do you think he'd be a good back for the Texans. Is he too much like Slaton or will he provide a different look?

I think he is alot like Slaton. Smaller back, good speed, question about durability & pass blocking ability. If we did not have Slaton, I think Goodson would be someone to look at in the third/fourth round.

We do need another back, but I think we need someone with a bit more bulk for goaline and short yardage situations.

First off Goodson will need to have a good time in the forty, a few sites I go to have him closer to a 4.5 which if true will have drop like a rock, he has not run inside in his college career and is on the small side, making him a dime a dozen RB.

I do not see him being a 3rd or better type with a low 4.4 time.

He could even not get picked in the draft, and end up as a FA. At least that's what one publication thinks.

From a Sherman quote I saw it almost sounded like there was something else going on besides just wanting to turn pro....like a family situation where he just really needs the money. Pure speculation on my part.

He could just be ready to get the hell out of there. I imagine it's not much fun being an aggie right now.

I think Goodson will definitely be heard from in the NFL. I would like to see him in a Texans uniform.

Based on what? What makes you think this? What has he done so special? When has be been healthy? What does he have besides speed? If he is a speed guy, so is Reggie Bush and he blows as a RB, and trust me, Goodson cannot carry Reggies jock.

I not so sure. Goodson has not progressed since in arrived in CS, and that concerns me. He also does not appear to run hard, he is not my type of back.

You may be right PK, I just remember Goodson from his H.S. accomplishments. They were pretty awesome. There has also been a lot of dissension lately on the Aggies football team.

Goodson has talent, but has not played to his raw ability. Seems like he is not into college more than he is really ready to go pro. If he mageages to put silly combine numbers, he could go 2nd/3rd round ish, but if he does not might be lucky to be drafted.
