Have the Texans ever entered a game this season with lower expectations? And will it give the team that us-against-the-world mentality, the emotional edge against a Colts team that probably thinks it already has this game won?

Gus Johnson and Steve Tasker on the call today. Game will be broadcast in Austin and San Antonio, but DFW (and now apparently Tyler) will see the Giants-Ravens game instead.

610am radio is reporting Dunta Robinson missed the flight and will be suspended/inactive for the game.

Edit: 610am now reporting he may still play...

Well, this helps!

From PFT:

BOB SANDERS INACTIVE FOR COLTS
Posted by Michael David Smith on November 16, 2008, 11:44 a.m.
The Indianapolis Colts’ defense will be missing its best player today against the Houston Texans.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that safety Bob Sanders is inactive today.

Sanders was listed as questionable with a knee injury, and he didn’t practice this week. But it still comes as a bit of a surprise that he won’t be able to play, as he had started each of the last two games, wins over the Patriots and Steelers.

Sanders has started four games this season. Today’s game will be the sixth game he’s missed.

I'm having a hard time getting excited about this game. And it will probably be that way for the rest of the games as well. Sad, really.

I tell you, if they'd just reduce the turnovers and improve the D a little bit, this team could be pretty darn good.

Texans receive the opening kickoff and matriculate right down the field. Slaton with a couple of good runs. 3rd and 1 at the 10 yd line - pass fails so Texans settle for the FG.

Texans 3, Colts 0

Colts kickoff. Texans return to their own 28 yard line. 1st play, big pass to Walter puts the ball at the Colt 11 yard line. 2 runs = no gain. Rosenfels sacked on 3rd down. Texans settle for the 34 yard FG.

Texans 6, Colts 3

Gotta start getting those TD's....

Freeney is a hand-full, obviously too much for our rook LT.
Can't get over how small the Colts inside DLine is. One tackle listed at 265
and the other at just 254. No wonder we ran the ball so effectively on our first drive.

2nd quarter.

Texans kick off. Colts move the ball into Texan territory - long time consuming drive. Colts converting many 3rd downs along the way. However, Addai drops pass on a 3rd down so Colts settle for the 39 yd. FG.

Texans 6, Colts 6

Colts kick off and Texans return it to about the 25. Texans go 3 and out and have to punt. Colts have a holding penalty on the punt return. Colts take over at their own 21.

defense forced to call timeout.

if I can read lips, Kubiak's might have said something like "f***in' bull!"

god, i hate our defense.

Travis was taken off the field. Looked like a knee injury maybe.

i'll say it again, i hate this defense.

You know things are real bad when you can absolutely predict how your team will manage to screw things up.

I can do it with the Braves and predicting double plays at crucial junctures, I can do it with the Suns blowing 9 point leads late in the third quarter to tie the game going into the fourth, and I can do it with the Texans, apparently now in the business of predicting game-ending interceptions.

:(

TexicanMexican

Found it in the box score. Colts had 80 plays for 5.9 yards per play. Texans had the ball for 45 plays and 7.9 yards per play. If I did my math right, factoring out Slaton's 71 yard TD puts the Texans at 5.5 yards per play.
