I'm royally pissed. I set the game to record on 708 because it was listed as being on there. It wasn't. It's on 713.
I missed the return.
Cincy puts together a time consuming drive and attempts a 43 yard FG. FG is good.
Texans 7, Bengals 3

I hope that lack of pressure on the previous pass was not a sign of things to come.
But I will take the "hands up" approach.
Texans take the kickoff and move into Cincy territory but fail to convert on 3rd down. Turk punts it to the Cincy 19.

Damn I hate this defense! If they're not giving up 8yds per pass, the QB is running for a 1st down!!!
Nice break up of the deep pass by Eugene Wilson so Cincy has to punt. Texans ball on their own 9.

I am getting the strangest sense of deja vu. Hopefully we dont repeat last weeks second half performance.
We have been allowing several underneath completions. I guess its better than giving up the bomb to ocho cinco (or chad johnson, whatever he wants to be called).

week after week we are going to have the same issues defensively until we get a new scheme. Our d-line is hustling after the qb but we are just always out of position. I think that is an obvious result of bad playcalling.
Cincy drive stalls out and they kick the FG.
Texans 14, Bengals 6
:50 left in the half.

Texans 14, Bengals 6

Schaub: 14/17 for 135 yds. 1 TD, 0 INT

1. Our run blocking sucks.
2. While AJ is having a big game, he's taking some big hits. Schaub needs to figure out how to lead a receiver without laying them out to dry.
Texans receive 2nd half kickoff and move right down the field with Schaub going to AJ many times. Walter gets the 7 yd TD pass..
Texans 21, Bengals 6

Molden has been everywhere on special teams.
Solid game plan on offense.
Same old bland defense.
Bengals have a 3 and out and punt. Texans ball near midfield...

Now that was a bad defensive play. Glad Walters stayed alert and took off. TD #2 for Walters.
Schaub to Walter who slips and slides for a 39 yd TD pass.

Dunta is playing and looks good, better than last week. Almost had an INT earlier....

After the Mario sack/FF, Texans take over at their own 14.

How had Duane Brown looked? Have the Bengals been getting much pressure?

Given cincy was 0-7 coming into this game. We did what we were SUPPOSED to do. We stumped a mud hole. And there is still time left.
We need to send a message that we are not an easy pushover.
Hopefully this win will carry over into next week!!!

Anyone who thinks that is stupid. We should be 5-2 anyway. I think other teams realize it.

Texans are no longer 0-fer vs. Cincinnati.

Dunta is:
leading the team in tackles
has a pick (and a finger tip away from two)
I think we are getting above expectations from him right now.
I see good things from this guy in the near future. Now if we can do something about our run defense. We could probably make a push. in this division.
AFC South
indy 3-3 (taking on the undefeated titans monday night)
jacksonville 3-3 (losing to the browns with 2 min. left in the game)
we could very well be tied for second place in our division by weeks end.

Texans ended with what looks almost dominating performance, especially the second half.
I think the two safeties of Nick Ferguson and Eugene Wilson seem to add some speed and coverage improvement in the secondary.

that's it the jaguars have lost to the browns making them 3-4.
We are no longer the worst team in our division.
although I do not like the titans I am pulling for them to beat indy.

How sweet it is to win by such a comfortable margin, even if we're playing a against a teams backup QB.
Today Schaub made Kubiak & Smiths decision to give up 2 twos for him a smart investment. And AJ is the man. For about the 3rd or 4th week in a row, he does look like one of the NFLs premiere recievers.
And I thought today D-Rob started to really look like the D-Rob we know and love. Understandably he was a bit tentative his first time back last week after his year off because of injury, but today he was showing some of the quickness and aggresiveness that have made him a premiere NFL corner. So far I think he's looking betters than we had any right to expect ?
Funny of the day, the crowd laughing when they announced "Ocho Cinco" on the reception.
You know what I have noticed. Jacques Reeves not being nearly as noticable the past few weeks. That is a good thing. Moulden making plays on ST. Adjustment in the game plan on the defensive side. Nice to see the thinking caps are on at Reliant Park. Cincy cannot run the ball, out goes Demps, and in goes the more mobile Ferguson.

although I do not like the titans I am pulling for them to beat indy.I'm not. This division is still winnable, IMO. Reel the Titans in some.
I think this team learned something from last weeks game against Detroit. How to finish a game in the second half, and It really proved it in the second half of the Cincy game. Wow!

I agree, I think the last 3 games have been hard lessons the team needed to learn and they seemed to have learned them.
The team has learned that they need to be smart in context of the game situation. Sometimes it is better to go down with the ball, then to try to make a big play that backfires. Sunday with around 3 minutes left, Schaub took a dive because the rush was getting close. A 1st down cements the game, but not fumbling the ball and punting it deep was the better play. Lesson learned from the Colts game.
Also this week the offense kept the pressure on, the starters never left the game and they kept on scoring, they learned never let a team off the hook, one or two big plays and they are back into the game, keep scoring and make them submit. Another lesson learned.
This upcoming week will be the biggest game of the year. Can they play 60 minutes of football against a solid team on the road? If they do, the sky is the limit, if they do not then....
