It's finally happened. Jack Easterby has been dismissed by the Texans.
@AdamSchefter
A significant shakeup in Houston: Texans are parting ways with their executive vice president of football operations Jack Easterby, sources tell ESPN. Houston hired Easterby in 2019 and he had a major voice in the organization.

Easterby spent too much time leaking Texans stories to his favorites in the media, which earned him a lot of enemies. Then he denied leaking stories to the McNair family. Good riddance!

The Chronicle's Brian T Smith pulls no punches in his assessment:

Smith: Jack Easterby, the Great Disruptor, is finally gone (https://www.houstonchronicle.com/texas-sports-nation/brian-t-smith/article/Jack-Easterby-Houston-Texans-out-17514384.php)

Jack Easterby was the most loathed Texan in franchise history, even though he never wore a uniform, threw a bad pass or blew a 24-0 lead to Kansas City in a playoff game.

Monday’s news that Houston’s NFL team had finally moved on from the nasty, rotten ways of the Easterby era?

A deep cleanse for a rebuilding organization that is still trying to win back all the fans it lost during the Easterby years.

A dividing line in Texans history — and the biggest day on Kirby Drive since Bill O’Brien was fired as head coach and general manager.

Remember that uplifting feeling you had when the Texans found a way to banish Brock Osweiler to Cleveland?

Texans Twitter united in celebration Monday morning as the McNairs finally did what should have been done years ago. Current GM Nick Caserio also got the professional distance he needed from an executive vice president of football operations who never had the Texans’ best interests at heart.

Better late than never. He deserves to share some of the blame with BOB for the decimation of the roster, cap, and front office while he was in a position for which he was completely unqualified. Hopefully the Texans are at least somewhat less dysfunctional going forward.

Finally, guess I might get the app soon.
