I also expect the coaches to make better decisions and not force the team/players to overcome their boneheadedness (is that a word?). Last week's game was somewhat close, but IMO, they were extremely lucky to still be in that game that late into the 4th qtr. I expect much better across the board this week and in the future!!! Have to agree with you. Dont EXPECT a win but definatly expect to see a better performance than what we have seen so far. I knew it would take time before the offensive line got thier act together. I can understand with the slightly new scheme and coach and all. What I cant understand is how bad our defense has looked, particularly the front 7. Even Ryans who has decent stats so far hasnt done anything exceptionally well. Mario has had moments but needs to be more consistant.

Speaking of the defense has anyone heard anything about Adibi? Is he still hurt? Man we need some play makers on D.

The Texans just got embarrassed. If you are getting schooled by Jack Del Rio then you really need to re-evaluate what you're doing.

The play calling on the first drive was absolutely mystifying. The quick passing game was working beautifully. Then the Texans line up in a formation that screams run and the CBs literally abandon their coverage responsibilities at the snap to swarm the LOS to stop the run. Next down? Same thing. Third and 14. That's great. If I know with 80% accuracy what play the team is going to run by looking at their formation, what do you think a defensive coordinator who watches 60 hours of tape per week thinks? It's mind boggling that after six years and two regimes this is still a junior franchise with no hope offensively because of little talent and clueless coaching.

The defense was pretty good. I was very impressed with the push the front four is getting. It IS the Jags' OL, but still.

I especially liked the way that the nobody who's never carried the ball in a three year career shoved Dominique Barber (wha had his back to the play) out of the way on teh way to six.

Jacoby is a great returner if he catches the ball and starts running upfield. I think somebody finally chewed his ass about all the dancing he does and told him to just run forward. On this one, he made one move and then just head upfield.

He would have picked more yards than he did. If you're going to let it bounce down there, you might as well let it bounce and hope it goes into the endzone.

Anyway, regardless of that one play or anything he's done in this game so far, it still feels like something bad is going to happen when he gets the ball. I wish I felt differently about it, and I hope he proves me wrong - big time.

Great game. We played a great game. The deciding factor still lies on the fact that we can get no pass rush. Mario is the only one on that line getting anything similar to penetration. After he fights off the double team the ball is in the air.

On a good note though. We took the run away from a running team. Except for the fact that they forgot the qb can opt to run the ball if he so chooses.

Tough loss. It would have been oh so sweet to win this one, but atleast we saw the kind of team we expected to see today after they extended their
exhibition season by 2 games this year.
Great game for Schaub: 29/40, > 300 yrds, 3 TDs, no ints. My faith in him has been restored, now lets see him play that way with more consistancy.

Offense - A : Nice gameplan and nice execution. Can't complain at all with the O today.

QB - A : Schaub was much better today. My only complaint would be he needs to check down to the RB once in awhile.

RB - B : Slaton is our best player right now. Chris Taylor needs to run harder and break a tackle once in awhile. Sad to say it, but he looks like a young Ron Dayne. Maybe not even that good.

WR - B : Not a bad effort from the WRs. Although, AJ need to make more plays and try to break a tackle or take on the DB/S once in awhile.

OL - A : I don't think they gave up a sack today and Schaub had time.

TE - A : Daniels was great today.

Defense - F : WTF... The D is a mess. Players out of position, bad play calling and obviously a badly coached unit judging by the tackling, etc. To give up that yardage 3-4 plays in a row to Garrard at the end was inexcusable.

DL - D : Everyone other than Mario, that is. The guy can't do it by himself! We're getting no penetration or containment at all. If you can't get to the QB, at least hold your position and don't let him scramble right up the middle.

LB - F : We're getting nothing from these guys as far as making plays (let alone BIG plays). And the tackling sucks!

DB - F : Reeves is awful and Bennett hasn't been much better. It's bad when Petey is your best DB. I'm ready to see what Molden or Wilson can do.

S - F : Were they even on the field today? How about knocking a WR out before or after the catch once in awhile? Let's give Barber some more time back there.

Special Teams - D : Kris Brown brings this grade up. Fake punt for a TD, no return game, coverage team never stopped them inside the 25 yard line, IIRC. Punting was nothing to write home about...

Coaching - D- : What can I say?? Kubiak and staff continue to be out-coached. And when DelRoido out-coaches you, it's pretty bad.

Is that all we still need? just wonder if it is the coaching or the players, or I guess both ? Seems like everyone is giving defense and even special teams an "F" for today. I thought defense actually was better this week than previous two weeks. atleast a little better. but not adapting to game situations well.

I still hope due to all the youth we will get better as season goes along.

That was a terrible way to lose. I hate.. hate the NFL OT. Both teams should have a possession. The defense just sucks monkey wizz. How many times was Garrard going to tuck it away and run with it? 4th and 8 and that doughboy runs for 10 freakin yards. Ugggghhhhhh.

This is absolute nonsense. If that's the case, why would you have the punt return team in and in punt return formation? The Jags didn't even have their f*cking punter in the game!

By the way, I don't know why everyone's so bent out of shape about the over time rules. The Texans had the chance to stop the Jaguars and get the ball back in good field position. They didn't. End of story.

I saw the post-game interview on TV and saw his facial expresseion along with his body language while he made that comment, and he was not only full of crap but he looked totally shell-shocked from the OT loss.
I dunno, maybe they should turn over game-management to somebody else who thinks quicker on his feet than Kubiak and just let him assume the open-mouth, gazed-eyed look that Capers trade marked on the sidelines on Sunday afternoons ?
