I've been saying for years that making safer helmets, not more candy-assed penalties, was the key to reducing concussions. The league has dragged their feet because of the licensing deals they had with helmet manufacturers. I guess the lawsuits have had an effect by accelerating efforts to bring new technology to the forefront while the teams still try to profess there was no correlation.
