CLEVELAND, Ohio -- It's a "serious possibility'' that the Browns will sign Texans veteran quarterback Matt Schaub to compete with Brian Hoyer, a league source told cleveland.com. ...

The Texans might release Schaub, 32, because he's due to make $10 million in 2014. CBS Sports' Jason LaCanfora and nfl.com's Ian Rapoport have both reported the Browns' possible interest in the veteran passer. The Raiders and Jets are also reportedly interested.

Baby Shan, aka Kyle Shanahan, is the playcaller in Cleveland now, so there's your connection. The Raiders and Jets are, well, the Raiders and Jets.

Maybe the Jets need someone to make Geno look good to the fans.

We are looking down our noses at the Raiders & the Jets ? I thought it was the Texans who had the 1.1 in the NFL Draft this year ? And I hear the same superior attitude from some about the Jags, and yet they swept us in 2013.
Bob McNair is dreaming if he thinks this is a PO team. Hey folks, this O'brien guy is totally untested in the NFL, and I can see us very easily finishing #4 in this division again in 2014.

Personally, I think 2-14 was an aberration. This team basically quit in mid-season. We almost beat Seattle, New England and Kansas City. There's plenty of talent but not plenty of leadership.

What we do at the QB position will obviously tell us how far the team is going in 2014. If we throw a rookie QB into this, 6-10 or 8-8 is your ceiling. If we get someone who has some veteran leadership skills, 10 wins is an outside possibility.

I agree with Bob. I think last year was just the perfect storm. However, it did happen so you can't totally ignore it. The Texans are quite the conundrum. I actually like their roster top to bottom more than most in the league. In fact, take away the QB position and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't trade our roster for New England's. Yet we have nothing to show for it and our record says we're the worst in football so maybe I'm biased.

If the team has managed to replace Kubiak with a competent head coach that in itself should be good for six wins.

It's the WARM stat that Bill Simmons jokingly made up. Wins Above Raheem Morris. Andy Reid was good for 6 last year and he is a worse in-game manager than Kubs. I can't say for sure that O'Brien is a good coach, but if he is, that should get us to 8-8 by itself. Throw in a new QB (any new QB), and 10 wins is possible. Especially in our division.

Looking down on the Jags, Raiders, and Jets is sorta what we do here. Combine that with those two teams looking to pick up the QB of the 1.1. team... and well... down our noses we look.

We also look down on the Titans. In fact, we especially look down on the Titans.

Why ?
Bill Parcells: "You are what your record says you are."
Any of those teams finished last in the NFL twice in the last 8 years ?
