The outcome of tonight's Jaguars game has a lot riding on the 2014 draft order, but it will also impact the two wildcard opponents on next year's game schedule too.
Texans will automatically get the AFC North and NFC East on their schedule in addition to the 6 games within the division. The last two games will be against the corresponding finisher in the AFC East (at home) and AFC West (away).
Home
AFC East (current Jets 3rd, Bills 4th)
Ravens
Bengals
Eagles
Redskins
Away
AFC West (current Chargers 3rd, Raiders 4th)
Browns
Steelers
Cowboys
Giants

That schedule could make a new HC look very good, very fast.

You think? I was thinking the complete opposite....

You think? I was thinking the complete opposite....Why? Only 3 teams on that list, Cowboys, Eagles and Bengals, currently have a winning records. If you include the teams in our division, only the Colts have a winning record. Things could change before the end of the season, but if the current trend holds true, that would mean we'd play 5 games (2 of which are at Home) against opponents with 2013 winning records. And IMO, the Cowboys, Eagles and Bengals aren't all that great.
Of course, we do royally suck so I can certainly understand your point of view on it. :)

Don't know what to make of that schedule. To me, the NFC East and the AFC North are the 2 biggest wildcard divisions. There's not a team in either division that I feel like I have a good handle on. It wouldn't surprise me if any of those teams went anywhere from 5-11 to 11-5.

Those are two divisions in down cycles who shouldn't be down for long. Cowboys, Giants, Ravens, Steelers are all likely to rebound quickly. As quickly as 2014? Not sure about that.
My odds are we will be paired with the Raiders since we seem to play them practically ever year.
