I'm wondering do we really want to loose this game? If we lose out we then have the #1 pick? But who si that pick?
To me picking top 5 in this draft get us a good player but outside of Clowney and Matthews, does the guy really help us? I'm not seeing the "it" QB just yet. And can you imagine Clowney and Watt coming off the ends?

Unlike last year, I thought this was supposed to be a really good Draft for QBs ?
Anyway, in our remaining games we've got Denver & NE here, Indy & Tenn on the road, with 2 games vs the Jags. I think we should win the game Sunday, but have doubts about the road game in FLA especially with a short week for NFLNet game on a Thursday night. So we could easily end up 3-13.

I think it is. There just isn't a consenus #1 QB or even a guy who is much better at #1 than what you get at #5.

Jacksonville will almost certainly take a QB since Gabbert has been a bust and Chad Henne is not the answer. Right now, the consensus is Bridgewater or Mariota (if he comes out) and I'm not ga-ga about either one although I think Bridgewater is the better prospect.
What scares me about Mariota is he'll be coming out of a spread offense (just like Keenum) and seems to save his worst performances for his biggest games.I think he and Manziel would both be smart to spend another year in college rather than being so hasty about turning pro.
Definitely, the QB class with Luck/Griffin/Tannehill was better than this one.
I never thought we'd be able to draft Clowney but he hasn't been helping his stock this season which might also be a red flag. I think somebody has given him some bad advice about protecting himself this season so he isn't injured for the draft and he's been half-assing all year. Dude has off-the-charts ability and he's from McNair's alma mater so we'd probably take him if he's there but I worry if he isn't a baller and gets complacent with a fat contract.
Back to the Jags, I think they are still playing hard but, without Blackmon, teams can just fill the box and stop Gary Coleman. They have some nice receiving weapons (Shorts, Lewis) but Henne probably still has nightmares from the last time he played against J.J. Swatt.

And I'll bet the Texans still have nightmares from their last meet-up with Henne when he took them into OT at Reliant last year.
Do we win Sunday and split with the Jags, sweep them, or do they sweep us in our upcoming games with them ? Frankly, with this season I have no clue
and none of those scenarios would surprise me in this year of 2013.

The -11 turnover differential (tied for 29th) helps explain it. We know all too well about the offense's pick 6s, but the defense has been particularly unopportunistic as only two teams have fewer takeaways.

Ya, 2-5 record in games decided by a touchdown or less is another. The other 3 games (Ravens, 49'ers, Rams) were very large losses when Schaub was still at QB. Oddly, despite the lopsided scores, the Texans won total yards and time of possession in all three games..... Weird stuff...
Just need one guy to step up and make a play during crunch time.... So far, no takers....

Henne pressured by Mercilus again throws the ball into the ground drawing the flag for grounding. Makes it 3rd and 25 coming up.

Our running game is ridiculous.
I don't believe the blitz recognition by Keenum is that bad. His eyes are constantly down field. I think that those are some well developed blitzes. The hot routes are covered and the blitz is on him in literally 2-3 seconds.

Do you really believe that he does not see the blitz. They are not hiding anything. The guys are all crowding the line of scrimmage.
There is clearly no one open to throw to OR the routes are not developing fast enough. Either way that can't all be placed on him.
My issue is that everyone in the league has been made aware of his blitz recognition. Was this not worked on in practice. Max protection, screen passes, draws, or quick passing. Whatever the case fix it. This is a playcalling problem.

We're now the Texastros. How long before McNair tries to sue the former owner?

Like a snake eating its own tail.
And seriously, knock it off with the Astros comparisons. They don't apply for reasons I have explained and then some. I hate the Astros and would love for them to lose 120 games next year but the idea that there is some organizational equivalency between the Astros and the Texans is idiotic.

Snakebit my ass, they just fing suck.
I've been intellectually rooting for them to lose every game since the SF Sunday night disaster. I figured losses helped us in two ways, draft position and (more importantly) getting Kubiak fired. If you could have asked me for my dream scenario at that point it was 2-14 even over a 9 game winning streak and an 11-5 miracle. It was more than obvious at that point (if not years earlier, I guess I'm a slow learner), that this team was never winning with Kubiak.
But even intellectually rooting against them has not protected me from being continuously disappointed by how terrible we are. We just lost to a team who starts about 1 guy I would sign over the counterpart we have on our current depleted roster (ILB). We are just pathetic.

This is exactly where I am. I sort of will the team to lose and then am pissed when they inevitably do.
I'd sign Scobee, too.

I also want the entire coaching staff gone, both sides of the ball. I'm on the fence about the GM, could go either way on him.

I want that guy gone first. But I'm almost certain he's not going anywhere.
Hell, at this point I'll be surprised if the owner has the balls to fire the head coach.
